Probably the smallest bakery in Paphos town

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Found this very small bakery in town opposite the Government offices
side road where dentist Lenia has her clinic. It is actually next door.
I have tried different breads there which are excellent like linseed bread,
whole grain bread, very heavy dark rye bread... Also baker produces Cypriot
sweets, Cypriot spinach pittas and that stuff. Not cheap but very healthy food
which is hardly found somewhere else. Just opened 2 month ago he will also
produce in future gluten free products as there is big demand.

German bakeries are good. I never understood their prominence in Nepal, but I certainly appreciated them.

Baker (Greek, not Cypriot) was working more than a decade
in Germany until he settled in Cyprus. (he was working at 5* hotels in Cy to do bread,
before he opened his own bakery now)

It looks a very nice bakery.... I much prefer the independents to the big conglomerates....

Have seen this bakery on my weekly visits to the orthodontist and wondered what it was like! Will give it a try in passing now, thanks!

Bought one German Stollen from Lidl for app. 3 Euro and for this little money
it was not bad at all. If one would buy the ingredients to bake at home, for
3 Euro you would get really nothing...

Full of praise were people who tried products from this tiny bakery and posted it on another Paphos forum. I did not see any comments on this thread. :o

What thread was that then? The only one I saw was the "Wonderful bread and pastry store", where one other person said they had bought from there and found it expensive. Is there another one that is full of praise for it?

I like a good bakers, but I am also getting more and more fond of lebanese flat bread. And a decent hot pitta is just delicious! On the way to the big dam to the east of Paphos, is a supermarket, just before the bridge over the motorway. If you get there at the right time you can buy hot pittas straight from the oven, which are unreal.

No, there is no other one, but perhaps I don't know as I am not keen to search on other forums, ever and anon I do.

"Good for you EllieB. I have just eaten a portion of Halloumi pastry, and also half a blueberry tart. So delicious. Real home made food again."

"We bought some bread, which was still warm, and it reminded me of the bread my parents used to send me out to get in the late 50's. We also purchased some pastries. Went back there again today and bought more. "
