Paphos mayor calls off decision to paint neoclassical school grey

Post by Paphos Life »

A public outcry forced the Paphos municipality to abandon plans to paint historic neoclassical buildings in the centre of town a dull grey as part of their maintenance....

I share the feelings of relief that the Paphos Mayor's plan to repaint neo classical buildings in the town, including the schools, grey was an awful idea. Hopefully, any redecorating will be in the existing colours.

What he should consider is making the derilict bars to the eastern end of Bar Street safe. Not only are they an eyesore, but given their current state, are also inherently dangerous.
A few sheets of plywood and and offer to local artists to paint appropriate imagery (the castle, Aphrodite etc) would go a long way to brightening that area up and making it safe.

Maybe you could put this in writing and send it to the mayor. Who knows?

It might be better and safer to pull the derelict bars down. Parts of Bar Street are an eyesore. That area is ripe for redevelopment.
