Fixed airport taxi fares from March 1
Re: Fixed airport taxi fares from March 1
I think the best system I have seen in operation over the last few years is at Budapest Airport. You go outside to the Airport Taxi cab office tell them your destination, they give you a ticket with the price on it and the taxi number. You then wait for that numbered taxi to rock up at the rank, show them your ticket and off you go, and your destination pay the driver just the amount on the preprinted ticket.

Very simple good idea too. Wonder if that would work here?

They do that at Luton Airport too. I'm sure it could work here, providing the taxi drivers are in agreement.

Don't know if they still do it now, but in Malta you booked your taxi in the arrivals hall and paid in advance. Then waited at the designated area.
If you wanted to tip the driver that was entirely up to you.
