Venus Beach

Post by Dominic »

Venus Beach used to be a bathing blackspot, with its unpredictable riptides. It has recently been rejuvenated, with the addition of an artificial reef and improved facilities. Now it can claim to be one of the nicest beaches in Paphos. Let's take a look...

Dominic, good article, however, unfortunately, timing of post, a women had to be rescued this morning by the lifeguards, due to rough water. Read an article online at In Cyprus. Would post a link if I knew how too!

So, it seems that this beach isn't always as safe as it's supposed to be ... Its always a good idea to swim when sea is calm and there's no wind.

I imagine they were swimming in the area to the left of the beach, that I highlighted in the blog.

Swimmers should never underestimate the power of the sea.

I quite agree with that, Mike. I'm not a strong swimmer and try to stay in a depth of water where I could stand If necessary. If one lives here, it is well known that much of the coast between The Elysseum and Coral Bay is unsuitable for swimming, except in the few places which have life guards.
