These roads are closed and dangerous roads due to weather conditions

Post by memory man »

Particular attention is given to those traveling on the road network and especially in the mountainous areas, as due to weather conditions, there are various problems on the roads.
In mountainous areas, all roads leading to Troodos are ONLY open to vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains or traffic on all four wheels. While the same applies to roads:
• Pedula - Prodromou
• Pinewood - Kakopetria
• Prodromou - Platres
• Prodromou - Lemythos
• Prodromos - Troodos
At the same time the roads remain CLOSED for all vehicles:
• Milikouriou - Agios Nikolaos
• Bridge between Korakos - Flassos villages
• Old Kato Moni - Agia Marina Xyliatos road
• Bridge over the Peristeron Primary School
Kakopetria - Karvouna road is open to all vehicles, however it is slippery and drivers are urged to be extremely careful.
In the Pafos province, the Pafos - Polis Chrysochous road remains closed, despite Yiolos, from its contribution to the Stroumbi - Kathikas road, to the contribution to the road to Simou in the Kuyiukkas area, for the construction of a bypass road section. landslide. The work is expected to take about two months.
During the works, access to Chrysochous Town from Paphos will be via the Stroumbi - Kathikas - Drousseia - Prodromi road as well as the Polemi - Agios Dimitrianos - Lassa - Simou road.
Throughout the road network, due to the rainfalls, they are slippery, so drivers are advised to be extremely careful, to drive at low, safe speeds and to maintain a safe distance from the vehicles in front.
It is also noted that the road network situation in the mountains is changing due to the prevailing winter conditions and the public is urged to be informed about the road network status through the application - application "Cyprus Police" or through the Police website www.cypruspolicenews.com , in the category "Road Network".
