Just successfully completed on-line, but this year requested details of car insurance policy. Just changed insurance company which told me to use the Cover Note number. I know it's not necessary, but I still print off a copy of the tax disc. Paid by credit card so in theory the payment goes out of my bank account in six weeks time.

Please can someone kindly explain what is required for user name? I seem to remember that there is also a number code required, is that for the password? I remember someone saying that it can be numbers from your car registration or from your yellowslip?
Or have I got this wrong as I can't remember what I did last year!
Help please, before I attempt to deal with their web site!
Thanks.

My user name is my email address , then a password , once in you have to use a further password and mine is the last three numbers on my passport. Hope this makes sense.

Excuse my ignorance on his matter but it has never effected us before but soon will, we have just bought a car for when we come over for good in April.
The car is new and will be taxed, the question I have is does EVERY car's tax run out over there at the start of the year or like over here twelve months after you tax it.
It sounds like you have to tax at the start of every year.
If that's so what if you bought a car in say November for example, how does that work?

Yes you are right Keith - everyones tax runs out on 31 December but you are not able to renew until usually the 2nd week in January and you then normally have a couple of months grace to renew. What is different this year is that you can now buy 3 months, 6 months or the full year whereas in previous years it was either 6 or 12 months,

Just paid my car tax for 12 months only €76. So easy on the web site.

Did notice that you can now pay up to March 17 June 17 and September 17 and December 17.

Not sure how it will effect you Keith will depend on when the garage taxes it for you. They would be the best ones to ask.
Happy to be back on the Island!

Road tax for 2017 is payable until next Saturday, March 11, at any bank, citizens’ service centre, district post office, district office of the road transport department, or at http://rtd.mcw.gov.cy , according to a transport ministry announcement.

The ministry said the tax is payable for three, six, nine, or twelve months.

A late payment charge will be levied on road tax payments after March 11, to the tune of €10 plus 10 per cent of the tax due for the year.

The ministry’s statement said that police will commence checks and report drivers whose cars have not had road tax paid for 2017...
You can also renew via JCC;

Flossie

Why am I a "numpty" because I comply with the Law and Tax our vehicles before the deadline date?

Has there been any extension to the March 11th deadline, or are untaxed motorists risking a fine ?

Just renewed mine and paid an extra €14 in a fine for late payment. Have always paid in January previously.

Why do these dopey Civil Servants insist on renewing every vehicle road tax at the same time each year? Of course this overwhelmes their systems during this annual peak! Then leaves them doing largely NOWT for the rest of the year. How stupid is that?

Spread it out evenly MONTHLY pro rata, based on month of manufacture, perhaps?
