Re: MEU 3

Agree with you Trev. Several of these offices are no longer fit for purpose due to to the sheer numbers having to visit them. I was told a while back that Social Insurance will relocate but it seems COVID has put the blockers on such things. I do think at some point in the future there may be a lega...

Re: MEU 3

Yes you can do it now if you want to exchange your MEU3 for the new MUKW3. You will get a new plastic card and it will be renewable (for photo update etc.) every 10 years. Not compulsory though at the moment and the paper MEU3 is still acceptable. If you want a copy of the new forms to look at, send...

St. George’s clinic. I got an appointment in a few days. Evangelismos is often really busy in that department.

It has been announced that appointments will now be given for vaccinations in age specific subcategory order. Starting with 90 and over, then 88/89 etc.

I was also advised this for hospital cards - not just the white one. Some areas are still not covered under Gesy.

Re: Account of having the Covid vaccination at Paphos Hospital

Thank you for posting. Not so easy in the UK. My 80 year old mum just received a letter this morning offering her a vaccination TODAY at a location in Bristol that she doesn’t know - an 80 mile round trip drive from her home. Despite her local community centre and health centre doing the vaccination...

Hi Dominic. These are the planned linear parks for Paphos although I am sure there will now be some delay https://in-cyprus.philenews.com/two-li ... or-paphos/

Re: Permitted areas allowed to walk for exercise?

Read the info as it clearly says within 500 meters of your residence. This is from the government guidance from the PIO: 15. In what cases is physical exercise/training allowed? Physical exercise/training is only permitted in public open-air areas where access is allowed in accordance with the decr...

Re: Permitted areas allowed to walk for exercise?

You can definitely drive to the beach as per the specific areas in the guidance stated by Dominic. Guidance is a little unclear again as I also think you could walk around your own neighbourhood - the guidance doesn’t specifically say this. Some people won’t have access to a car.

Re: Well it's all kicking off in Washington.

Must admit I agree with the difference in reporting in general. I was amazed at some of the reporting during the Cyprus banking crash which was not exactly an accurate picture of what was happening here. I am also often disappointed at the lack of reporting by the BBC on some world issues that are c...

Many thanks (and thanks to Jimgym for alerting me to this!) I can't find any info on where you send the completed form - sorry if I have missed something! (the form I print out looks as if the bottom of it is missing, which may contain the information I'm looking for) Hi David. These are the requir...

Re: SODAP Beach Update

I am all for new and modern upgrades but I cannot understand why this was allowed to be built on the beach itself. The Deck is above the coastal path. There is one beach in Kato Paphos and a reasonable chunk of it has been taken by this building. If there was a mile stretch of sandy beach it would b...

Re: Rapid tests - results not to be reconfirmed

Lloyd they didn’t double count them. The antigen tests were not included in the figures until they had been retested with a PCR test and added the following day. The numbers were separately reported but not counted in the official figures for each day. They have now decided not to follow these up wi...

Re: Coronavirus: Slight relaxation of measures for Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve

Quite a pointless relaxation for the sake of a roast dinner etc. The only relaxation is a change of a few hours on the curfew time so I don’t think that would much affect the roast dinner (which most Cypriot families would eat around 1pm anyway). The change is to allow 2 hours extra time with famil...

Re: Paphos Chinese Garden Revisited

A lady posted time-dated photos yesterday showing significant damage to these animal structures within a few weeks of the park opening. She said this was due to cracks to the structures caused by excessive watering of the grass and in her opinion the material used for these structures were bad quali...
