Re: Government ally calls out EAC for cheating on subsidised bills

the subsidy was given on the basis of the date the invoiced was raised ... not the dates of supply... it was the same when the subsidy was introduced.. nothing to do with when the electricty was consumed.. everthing to do with when the invoice was raised. no one complained when the subsidy was into...

Re: Collecting water from your A/C...

Unfortunately my a/c water outlets are close to the ground, but I can get a 5l watering can under one of them and a cat litter tray under another, and use the water for my plants.

As you said, it's amazing how much water you can collect on humid days.

Re: Amazon.de and UPS … Ye Gods

I order quite a bit from Amazon.de and it always comes with DHL, not UPS. And it works fine with DHL, I get notifications all along and the parcels arrive in a couple of days. I do tend to opt to pick up from their office, so don't know what home delivery would be like, but I'm in town for work so i...

Thanks Max

I've seen a couple of articles on this but hadn't seen any photos.

I wonder if the site will be open to the public one day?

Re: Muntyan's Labyrinth - Walking Tour

I first came across this years ago, when only the 1st circle was there. It's been great to revisit over the years and see the progress, I find it fascinating. Some of the rocks are quite red/coppery, so I presume he brought those from elsewhere in Cyprus as the local rocks aren't that colour. I I wo...

Re: Highway closure

At 9.30 this morning the motorway was closed from Anarita/Mandria onwards, towards Limassol. So you could drive from Paphos as far as Anarita, but after that had to take the B-road. Unless that's changed since then you're still fine for the airport as you can drive as far as the Anarita/airport junc...

These are incredible photos Max!!!

I love the contrast of the really dark skies with the light on the pool and fields. And with the falling white hail clearly showing. They're stunning.

Re: Smart App or SMS Payment Required At 8 Parking Locations From Monday

Next question - Do you need internet access when you are using the App to enter the 4 digit parking space number? Yes, I have a smart phone but use it mostly for voice calls, sending/receiving SMS and playing games! For the smart app you do need internet. But you only need to turn data on for a min...

Re: Smart App or SMS Payment Required At 8 Parking Locations From Monday

In other words they are removing the coin operated ticket machines in those 8 car parks around Paphos. Really like the App, I know it only small change but I like having it pay only what I use when just popping somewhere for a short while and paying a few cents and not faffing about making sure I h...

Re: No good news for off-road lovers in Akamas...

And how will you be getting to the Akamas? And there is the dilemma.... I want to protect the Akamas and leave it as natural . But I also want to be able to visit and enjoy that nature a couple of times a year. I don't have a 4x4 and am certainly not (and never will be) fit enough to cycle it, and ...

Unfortunately the linking your Avios to a credit card or Nectar card is no use to me as I am not British and have no money in the UK... The solution would be a go on exciting holiday across the world, flying via UK on BA or affiliate, to use rather than lose all my points, but alas, that's not reall...

Re: BA Avios points.

If you take out a credit card that gives you Avios points or collect them another way you will be OK, you only loose points if you don't add or spend points for more than 3 years. Gary. What about if you just buy from Avios points from their website? Is that enough to stop them expiring? Avios didn...

Re: ROC stopping UK Expats from North visiting.

The notice is from the road transport, it looks like it may only relate to taking your car over / driving licenses.

In this case, UK nationals could still cross over for a few days, as long as they don't take their car.

Hi Dee, yes they do still make signs but they're not ridged, just peel off ones. Amazon DE have just what we want but they won't ship to Cyprus which I find surprising given how many other products you can get from them.
