What you need is a vent installed and the ceiling painted with Fungitex paint. It's lack of ventilation that causes mould.

We have a window open permanently and have done this -the problem is definitely coming in from the roof!

Flat Roof Sealant
We need to reseal a flat roof which has caused problems since we moved into the house - mould/damp on the ceilings during the winter. We have done it several times previous (using the same materials and method as our other flat roof which is fine) but it now needs doing again. We have asked several ...

Driving Instructor
Please can anyone recommend a driving instructor who speaks good English? I have a Filipina carer who has been learning to drive for nearly 3 months, she has her test booked for early December, but I took her out today for the first time for practise (her instructor asked me to do this some time ago...

Re: Where to buy an aluminium or UPVC front door?
Try Christos Michael -he has an aluminium shop at the back of Papantoniou in town (there are several around there and opposite Paps at the traffic lights. He has done a lot of work for me over the years mainly replacing old wooden shutters in rental properties for more secure and longer lasting alum...

Re: Handing over your home to a family member in Cyprus.
We transferred my mothers house over to me last year when she was diagnosed with dementia - this was on the advice of our lawyer just in case the house had to be sold to pay for care etc, it would be much easier for me to be able to do this as apparently Power of Attorney is useless in such a case. ...

You can call UK landlines for approx 5 euros a month or landlines and mobiles for 13 euros a month (unlimited calls) via Skype. It is NOT the usual Skype call where you both need internet etc, you just sign up (and can cancel at any time) and can call using Skype on any device with internet to a nor...

Re: Driving in Cyprus
You can have a provisional license in Cyprus at 17.5 but cannot take your test until you're 18. Check with your insurance company if they will accept a UK provisional license, if they will you can get third party insurance for him at an extremely cheap rate compared to the UK but no insurance compan...

Re: Taking Filipina Domestic Worker to UK
Thanks Jim B - I've now managed to find the right application form and don't think we'll have any problems completing it, I just need to get all her life history! Other than the cost of £93 which seems outrageous, hopefully we'll be able to manage the trip - it does make me wonder how so many people...
