Re: Troodos story

When in the RAF here I was told that some people had done this as a challenge... When I first arrived in Cyprus in 1968, a friend drove us up to visit the RAF base there, I think that by then 'the new road' had been built, but he pointed out a very narrow, corkscrew-ing road on the other side of a r...

Re: Airlines,fact or myth?

I'm not sure about airlines raising prices if one is trying to compare prices by clicking on their website more than one before booking. I find that with Easyjet the price of a flight goes up. Also they state if others are booking the same flight as you. Such things as "only 2 seats left at thi...

Wireless printer

My present printer is kaput and I am looking for a wireless replacement which will work with my iPad. Please can someone with Techie experience help by suggesting which shops in Paphos are worth a visit. I need a replacement as soon as possible. Many thanks for help or suggestions to source a replac...

Re: TOTK BUS DEPOT STILL NOT READY

Well done, Clive! Seems incredible that measurements of these big buses turning radius weren't taken into consideration when planning it. So did the man-in the pub know what authorities plan to do about that?
Alternatively, use could be made of it as a scooter riders training area...

Re: TOTK BUS DEPOT STILL NOT READY

The puzzling thing about the new bus station on ToTK Rd,is that it appears to be more or less finished, but deserted. Though as I prophesied earlier it seems popular as a car park. It seems as if bus drivers are contented to bunch up together at the back of the big car park close to the Leptos Headq...

Lucky you! We need some of this rain-in the Paphos area too! Especially in the Anarita area where the Asprokremnos Reservoir is only half full...

Re: Viklari

There has been quite a lot of publicity about the Akamas which the Govt are keen to turn into a National Country Park. Construction of a lot of concrete roads which will encompass most of this area started then stopped due to claims that these new roads were too wide and not according to plan. It ma...

Re: M and S purchase.

Agree, M&S have a very strict stock control within each branch. In the past it seemed easier to change an item, I guess its probably down to having a computerised stock control system where each item must be accounted for. When I was in the UK, I was unable to change a sweater bought in one bran...

Re: Cyprus raises bar further for citizenship

Seems fair enough, but I tried to learn the language and got floored by the grammar this requires. Now I have a MUKW3 which is a BioMetric Card. I am wondering if this will be more useful than the old MEU3 was if traveling elsewhere in Europe?

Re: Cyprus Postal Service

Hi daveg, Thanks for your reply. Are you talking about actually sending a parcel abroad while in Cyprus? If there is a different form for those of us sending a gift to a friend or relative abroad from CY where do you find it? The post mistress in my local PO only knew about the complicated 4page form...

Obvious advantages to an Aluminum fence, no maintenance required. Anything wooden left outside needs reg maintenance and repainting with a wood preservative.

I've also had very good service from both EAC and Cyta.I've also been told on occasion by CYTA if my router needs replacing.i go to their office to get it which also avoids waiting. Guess it depends where you live. The only company I had poor service from was believe it or not, G.Air. They sent a te...

Re: Cyprus Postal Service

Letter post isn't the same problem. That tends to languish in sacks either at Larnaca Airport waiting for collection to Limassol, then Paphos. It's parcels even jiffybag which are small ones. There seems to be an obsession to force people to fill in a lengthy form giving their business address, VAT ...

Cyprus Postal Service

Sued51 My post was the situation regarding Paphos in1999 and for a few years after. Yes, now when the Immigration office is packed, people queue up on an internal staircase in a newer building. But having an appointment has improved the experience. From reports I hear the Immigration Depts in other ...

Re: MUKW3

See what I said earlier about Immigration in Paphos! One can only guess what their mindset is. Nothing about the way they work has changed over the years of my residence here. Except that more recently it is possible to make an appointment. Hurrah. In the 'old days' there were no appointments. The f...
