Re: Goodbye...Lord Frost
Twitter does tend to be left-leaning, when you look at the trending topics. Without it, the likes of Owen Jones and Femi would doubtless go hungry. That's a rather sweeping statement…. It depends on the topics and threads you migrate towards…. I can find many that are very right leaning…. We must b...

Re: Goodbye...Lord Frost
So what if she was a remainer? That's how democracy works. Cases are put forward, decisions are made, and everybody then does what the consensus wanted. You miss the point, that she was a ‘fervent’ remainer. Totally against brexit - until she realised she could better herself politically…. Just lik...

Re: Lewis Hamilton knighted !
I love Andy Murray and loved what he’s done for British tennis, but I disagree with him being knighted…. Like I do about ANY sportsperson, armed forces general, high-up civil servant, politician etc. Honours should be for efforts way over and above normal work, for the good of charity or society…. A...

Re: New restrictive measures against Covid-19 as of 29 November
There are very few who cannot get the vaccine for medical reasons and if so, then the system should support them with free tests, however, with their susceptibility, maybe most shouldn’t be out in public.?

Re: It’s Official - from the OBR -Brexit is much worse for UK economy than even COVID pandemic
Termite, there are some positives in what you posted, but we have already lost trillions from the City of London in investments, PLUS, the UK isn’t just London. Most of the people are suffering. Petrol over £1.50 a litre, all foodstuffs up in price, shortages everywhere, shelves empty, M&S stopp...

Re: Flying back to UK
Living in Scotland, but having travelled to England weeks ago, I was shocked at the lack of masks on trains, shops etc. We are about 95% compliant in Scotland, where you must wear a mask in a public place indoors.

It’s Official - from the OBR -Brexit is much worse for UK economy than even COVID pandemic
Reported in Guardian - https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/oct/28/brexit-worse-for-the-uk-economy-than-covid-pandemic-obr-says Brexit worse for the UK economy than Covid pandemic, OBR says Fiscal watchdog says Brexit would cut GDP by around 4% long term, while Covid impacts would hit output by...

Jim B. That’s the tip of the iceberg as you know. The total given out to Tory donors is billions. Serco being a classic example. £37bn and counting. No precious government would have survived one scandal. This lot are untouchable and they know it. Tell enough lies and people stop caring.

Re: If only I'd warned...
Dominic, the majority of people in Scotland (who vote) vote for the SNP as a means to Independence. Once Independent, other parties will gain more votes. Labour was by far the largest party in Scotland for probably 100 years and people never forgave Blair for Iraq or the way the “Better together” ca...

Re: If only I'd warned...
If leave voters were after other factors, rather than stopping immigration, then what were those factors and were they achieved? Control, Borders, Economic growth, Jobs, UK businesses? I cannot see how any other factors will make a difference to people lives for the better. In fact, as we always ask...

Re: If only I'd warned...
I think some comments on this thread are rather cutting and unnecessary. People jumping on HiC who has an opinion they don’t agree with and major on the fact he never voted…. As the only insult they can throw…. I post a lot as a Remain voter about the mistakes the UK made with Brexit - and continue ...
