Re: Our first Hides
Just checked and I have put my location as Paphos, Cyprus / West Yorkshire UK as we divide our time between the two fairly evenly. From what you have said, it sounds as though I may need sponsors at both ends, so your offer is really appreciated. Please could you confirm your ID for me and I will am...

Re: Our first Hides
Thanks very much Dominic. Two are on/near the Mandria coast and one near the Asprokremnos Dam so not far from Mandria. Once they are approved I will let you have the details.

Our first Hides
With 59 "finds" and a few "did not finds" under our belts, and more than a few hair raising moments when off road, we decided it was time to hide some caches ourselves, so we spent the day in the Mandria area setting up 3 hides. Nothing too difficult and, as with most caches, the...

Another option is Zanari's who are second left from the Debenham's roundabout when heading away from the roundabout towards Alpha Mega.

Re: Geocaching Supplies
Called into the shop and now have an ideal little magnifying glass. Fabulous shop behind a fairly plain facade, and the staff were charming.

Re: Sign of bad weather coming (pics)
When I was about 8 or 9 years old we lived in a Turkish village, in the outskirts of Nicosia, and the whole village headed to the dry river bed one day because "the water was coming". After a short wait, a tidal wave of water went rushing past us. Sadly, a very unhappy donkey was on the wa...

Geocaching Supplies
Whilst being dragged around the Paphos Mall this afternoon I bought some very small, hard backed, spiral bound, notebooks in Tiger 1.75" x 2.25" which are perfect for small containers. €1 each. Inevitably, a trip round Jumbo was on her itinerary, and next to the till we used were telescopi...

You are right Al. Usually about 9, 9.30'ish in the evening and Band your comment about the Wavedancer will be spot on as Ricco's is in exactly the right direction.

Re: Fireworks
Perhaps once or twice a week, since we arrived in July, there have been firework displays which we see/hear in Universal. They are in the direction of the hotels along the seafront, heading out towards Geroskipou, and we have always assumed they are part of someone's wedding celebrations.

Re: Spanner in the works
We have a neighbour in the UK who uses a combination of Freeview, Amazon Prime and Netflix and we are going to assess that when we go home. If that isn't really what we are looking for, our next consideration will be to buy another Mag Box here and take it to the UK. We have asked about the viabilit...

Re: Spanner in the works
We have been to'ing and fro'ing between the UK and Cyprus for about 18 months now as we have a growing family back home. One young grandchild, and two more on their way. It is far from satisfactory in many ways, not least the upkeep of two properties and the associated services, plus the costs of fl...

It was a few years ago, so things may have improved, but we were not impressed to be served what were obviously processed and frozen vegetables.

Re: Pigeons...and how to get rid of them?
On the right heading out of Paphos called Plantfix. They have a couple of the kites out the front so easy to spot. If you have your camera with you there was a ginormous lizard sunning itself on one of the very large earthenware pots at the front. Had a proprietoral air about it so probably there ev...
