Re: Coronavirus: tourism industry, in letter to president, pleads for easing of restrictions
Someone asked me today when I thought the virus would be gone. I said I thought because of the fact that it exists in every part of the world: probably never! Just like the flu virus, it will mutate and we'll need a vaccine each year.

Re: Water helicopters
I could see where they were from my house, albeit not quite the Tsada one, but the choppers were to & fro right above me. They rattled the roof tiles one occasion when far too low!

Re: UK banks to close many ex-pats accounts after Brexit.
We wanted to buy Premium bonds for our grandson online but were blocked. On speaking to their customer services was told you couldn’t purchase Bonds if you lived in Cyprus, but we are able to continue to hold the ones we already had and if we do win it is reinvested in more Bonds. So if you reinves...

Re: UK banks to close many ex-pats accounts after Brexit.
Not a word to the taxman, but I just had 2 wins this October; £25 & £100. So my plan paid off; leave a min amount in my bank (paying a miserly 0.01% interest) and stuff the rest into Prem Bonds.

Re: Tax form 2019
Yeah, done it at last & I'm owed a small refund! The Resolution - I had to delete the pre-entered name & address and for me to enter it (no changes!?) It now accepted my SI Certificate date of 24/09 & the other problem was I'd entered 0,00 in some parts whereas I should have left complet...

That's hardly surprising as the restrictions are hitting their ability to make money (& employ people too)!

Re: Portuguese couple on quad bike seriously injured after falling off Akamas cliff
How did I know Lloyd & WHL would disagree, which is absolutely their right, but it doesn't alter the way I feel. I somehow think they would change their minds however, if for example, a noise making factory was next door to them! Why is Ok for a Quad to make more noise than my car? Any clues?

Re: Olive Tree Polemi,cash only
I think at the moment their is only one company in CY that facilitates card payments and that's JCC. It would be unlawful not to have at least one other facilitator to provide that service.

Re: Cashback at the Supermarket
Cyprus banks (certainly Hellenic & BoC) are charging the big companies to deposit cash, so cashback is a way of reducing the penalty interest the banks are charging companies.

Re: Portuguese couple on quad bike seriously injured after falling off Akamas cliff
Quads drive past my house in a convoy, either going to or returning no doubt from the AKAMAS. Call me an old grump if you like, but OMG, what an horrendous noise. If my car made as much noise as a Quad it would not pass an MOT. So why is it OK for Quads (& some motorbikes) to make as much noise ...
