Re: MRI Payment via Gesy?

Thank you, we have no objection to paying at all, but it caught us on the hop at the clinic as we had not been advised beforehand.

However, the manager of the clinic was more than happy to receive cash!

MRI Payment via Gesy?

I'm going for an MRI later this month. The doctor I am registered with is under Gesy. However I have heard that under certain conditions the patient has to pay a proportion of the cost towards certain procedures. For example I recently had to pay towards the cost of hiring an operating theatre at a ...

MEU1 required for holiday home?

If you have a holiday home here in Cyprus, and spend your 'allowed' time in it each year, but are resident in the UK, will you need an MEU1 when Brexit finally occurs?

Re: Rhuematologist recommendation

Dr Antoniades at the Hippocratic Clinic opposite Honda and Papantoniou in the centre of Paphos. Tel: 96414749

We saw him last week, very knowledgeable on autoimmune issues. He arranged blood tests, MRI, and a temporal arteritis biopsy while we were there.

Re: Mask Watch

Jim, absolutely it should be made available to the shop, bar owners. etc. if requested. I wouldn't assume anything in these stressful times and certainly wouldn't question anyone. There are lots of reasons why some people can't wear masks........

If they are medically exempt, it may be best to get a GP's note.

Re: Parliament votes tougher fines for drivers

If I'm on an empty highway with a long way to go, why not drive at the maximum permitted speed?

Re: Parliament votes tougher fines for drivers

At least once a week I pass police with radar guns on the highway. My cruise control is usually set (weather permitting) at 120 kph. I have never been pulled over. Similarly I set it to 78 in a 65 limit. No problem.

Re: Parliament votes tougher fines for drivers

Driving at 60 in a 50 limit will not incur a fine, just as it doesn't today. Nowhere does it say that the current 20% allowance is being scrapped. Currently doing 120 on the highway does not incur a fine, while 121 incurs a €21 fine.

New rules for masks seems to coincide the the number of flights arriving today and the fact that the Cypriot holiday is about to start. Lots more people around. Really hope we don't get a second wave......

Recommendation for Rheumatologist

My wife has a series of muscular and joint problems which happened over a couple of weeks in March. Up until then she had been fit, healthy and active. To date she has been managing with physio and self care but would also like to explore the option of a rheumatologist. Can anyone recommend someone ...

Re: Serious pub dispute ( ladies ) 1

I do both, balanced diet and minimal skin care. When I was young my mother always put baby oil over me. I carried on doing it over the years until I was in my 60's and then went to a moisturiser. I'm particularly careful here in Cyprus when the humidity is low and very drying, but I'm not faddy. I j...

British Passport validity

I was under the impression that post Brexit we can continue to use our British EU passports until they expire, at which point the renewal will be a purely British passport. In the last 24 hours, however, I have heard from 2 separate sources that our existing passports will cease to be valid as of 1 ...
