Re: Touch wood! Reds...

As a Stockport County fan and somebody with very little interest in the Premiership/Champions League, I must admit, even I get fed up with the fact that Liverpool and their fans always seem to be 'media darlings'. It is clear in my mind, that their fans trashing of the City coach affected the outcom...

Re: New Laptop

I notice that we have conflicting reports on a Toshiba laptop, but it comes down to which model you have got. Before buying a laptop, unless you have got a lot of money to spend, you need to decide what is important, processing speed, processing capacity, file storage, graphics , etc. You can then g...

Re: Lifeguards sacked in PC UK

Scarborough RNLI had a volunteer who had served for 35 years 'sacked' last year. Seems to me that there is a disconnect between the management and the volunteers. If they don't sort it soon they will begin to lose public support.

Re: Lifeguards sacked in PC UK

No it's not fake news or an April fool, the protest against the sackings was all over the local news....PC brigade gone mad.
Might be an idea to send the 'female boss' out in a force ten gale, I can't imagine she would be too worried about a couple of stupid mugs then !

Re: Cyprus won't take action against Russia as is member of security council

Given that Cyprus is still in a relatively perilous economic position I can understand their position regarding Russia. At the end of the day a tit for tat expulsion of diplomats is only really posturing. Boris Johnson goes on about expelling spies and stopping England competing in the World Cup but...

Re: Outrage over Siberian tiger cub petted at Paphos Zoo

Not sure about Philippos's but we were at Paphos Zoo in the summer and my daughter had her photo taken with the tiger cub. At the end of the parrot show you could pay 20 euros to pat the tiger whilst it was having a bottle of milk. Whilst it was obviously a contrived situation, the staff highlighted...

Re: The Enclosure of Agios Neophytos

Thanks Dominic, really enjoyed the blog. For you guys coming from further afield it is maybe worth extending the trip to take in the 'Cave of the Fathers in Archimandita followed by a trip down the valley to Kato Archimandrita, which is virtually deserted apart from a church and a couple of semi occ...

Re: Retirement in Paphos

Just to add another shout for 'A place in the Sun' ,we went to a show in Manchester about 3 years ago and came across a property for sale on Secret Valley, which proved to be the catalyst for our purchase in Cyprus. We did not buy the one we saw at the show but another one on Secret Valley, which ha...

Re: Title deeds

Moving away slightly from the subject of title deeds and more onto wills, we were told by the solicitors who drew up our Cypriot wills that we shouldn't name them as executors as they are obliged to charge a ridiculously high fee to administer an estate based on a per-centage of the estate value (so...

Re: Easy Jets new policy/ bright idea

We have been using Easyjet out of Manchester for the last 2/3 years and we never pre book seats. Providing you check in as soon as possible (i.e 30 days from departure ) the auto allocation has always put us together even when 6 have been travelling. There was talk that Ryanair purposely separated p...

Re: Guest viewers on the forum.

Dominic's post yesterday regarding guests and members has finally prompted me to register as a member and become a participator rather than a voyeur ! At the moment we live in Sheffield and have place in Ha Potima which we visit for around 6/7 weeks a year. As part of the due diligence process surro...
