A Pleasant Surprise with DHL
Since Amazon started expedited deliveries to Cyprus several years ago, UPS have delivered to the door but DHL have not, necessitating a 24km round trip to collect from their office. On Monday I placed an order with Amazon.co.uk and another with Amazon.de, both with expedited delivery. Both orders we...

Re: Tree removal assistance please
Hi Rita, As I posted in recommended contractors last October, I have no hesitation in recommending Dig It Tree Services http://digittreeservices.com/palm-trimming-and-care/ I needed two large date palms removed and having tried local to Limassol to find a contractor without success, gave Dig It Tree...

Re: ACS couriers
Jim, All of my orders from Amazon.de were fast delivery and rest assured I did not complain when it was DHL, I just asked if it was possible for deliveries to be by UPS. I did not ask for any compensation or receive any and like you and HIC, I think the more complaints Amazon receive the more likely...

Re: ACS couriers
Not always true Jim, I have bought 9 items in separate expedited deliveries from Amazon.de this year (not one of their third party suppliers) and four have come by DHL and five by UPS. They tell me there is no way of selecting UPS for a delivery, so like Amazon.co.uk it is the luck of the draw.

Can anyone identify this?
Found this on one of my terracotta pots today and have spent about an hour on Google trying to identify it without success.
The casing is rock hard and it is firmly attached to the pot
Any answers?

Re: Best place to buy LED PIR Security Lights
I bought two of these from Amazon over a year ago. They give out a soft light throughout the hours of darkness and a bright light when the PIR is activated. They are now on sale for £31.17 including 3 day delivery. I have just ordered another two. Alan https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EL91PM2/...

Re: Vet required for a Tortoise
Your friend should not be alarmed. Having personally kept many tortoises in the UK and here in Cyprus it is normal for them to estivate when the temperatue goes above 30 ish. They seek shade and do not eat or come out to play. A Google definition 'Estivation (from the Latin word aestas, meaning summ...

Re: Advice wanted - Garden Shredder suitable for Palm Fronds
Thanks for the advice. I found this one via Youtube which copes with green palm fronds but way out of my price range.
I will stick with using a skip each year.

Advice wanted - Garden Shredder suitable for Palm Fronds
Can anyone recommend, from personal experience, a garden shredder that can deal with Date Palm fronds? I have read countless reviews on Amazon and watched many YouTube clips and it seems that with the majority you end up with a chewed stick as opposed to chippings. I will probably end up hiring a sk...

For BBC iPlayer users
From todays Daily Telegraph: -
The BBC has added password controls to iPlayer, forcing viewers to register in order to watch its programmes.
From today iPlayer users will need to provide the BBC with their name, date of birth email address and home address if they want to use the service.
