"Tris di pesce" at home
As I prefer fish to meat and my last fish lunch at Timi Beach was already 3 days ago, I prepared some quick and easy food today. I had fresh salmon filet in the fridge and frozen shrimps plus sole filets in the freezer, plenty enough for me as a fish meal. Had only to peel cooked potatoes and put th...

Re: Bravo EAC
As the topic changed to mobile phoning now: I remember 1987 buying a very expensive unit to have a phone in my house which was then built in the nowhere, near Neo Chorion in case of an emergency like fire or illness... It looked mobile, however if I moved its position too much in the house I lost si...

Re: Light steady rain
Over in the east we have had just over 48mm of measured rain since yesterday midday, and still more to come. Lovely stuff. On our end at Paphos I measured this early morning 4mm from last nights light rainfall. It just shows how much it varies in Cyprus. Like yesterday, the morning image from the T...

Re: RAIN and RAIN plus RAIN
Rain and Rain plus Rain we need desperately to fill up the dams, not a little morning shower. Our largest dam in Cyprus near Limassol is still only at 39% full and it is February in a couple of days....

Bravo EAC
Many people complain how EAC works. I however was very impressed yesterday night when I had a power cut for a sudden due to rats preferring to eat the cables at my electricity box outside the house. A electrician came along after an hour I called, together with the landlord, saying he would not touc...

Re: Recommendations for someone to replace wooden fence
Our current wooden fence is almost 20 years old and needs replacing. It has been repaired and repainted over the years but has really come to the end of its life. Recommendations for someone to take away the old fence, and replace with a new one would be gratefully received. Thanks Cyprus Tree Serv...

Re: The Archimandrita to Nata Shortcut
Lovely ride, Thank you Dominic, I watched it twice and found out that switching to the YouTube version plays much better and without interruptions on my computer. Very nice sound tracks as well and one reminds me of good old times in the early 70's when I used to go to pubs playing mainly blues...( ...

Re: Tourist arrivals at pre-pandemic levels
All good for the Cypriot economy. As it happens i was just booking a flight for this weekend and noticed on the Paphos airport website that for the remainder of today and all of tomorrow there are 26 flight Arrivals. 1 from easyJet and 25 from Ryanair, the amount of people Ryanair are connecting wi...

Re: Cyprus weather pic
Such a wonderful picture Max. Thanks ! Glad you like it Louise. To get the sun reflection like that is a bit tricky, but this is the reason I published that pic. As it was December and the sun very low in the sky, I got quite an amount of photos with that sunstar at lunchtime. :D https://up.picr.de...

Re: Troodos snow 2024
It looks like that climate change has also reached the Troodos high peaks this year, as the temperature up there is much too high that this little snow from Saturday stays any longer....

Lovely views of the old town which one gets only with a drone specially when the speed is like that. Impressive the dominant position of the Muse you can see( at 2.30 m). I wonder what building was there in old Roman times....

22c in our house with just the 1 aircon unit, set at 23c heating the whole downstairs. Our LG invertor units are brilliant and consume very little electricity for both heating or cooling. So far it has been the mildest winter we have experienced in Cyprus and the driest since the early noughties. I...

Interesting that nobody wears citrine jewelry.... it is and was very popular in Germany though. Untreated citrines are quite expensive nowadays.
