The doctor I saw was of the opinion that I was not deaf.. But it is the fact that, like you mention, you sometimes miss what someone says... I will see how things go, and take on board what you say.. But nodding and smiling when you (or I) don't hear something is just making more problems..

If you are intending using the Gesy system I would have though you needed a letter of referral from your GP. If so can you not ask who the GP would recommend

Thank you for the two latest recommendations... I chatted this afternoon with friends who have hearing aids and gained even more information.. One thing this post has shown me is that hearing aids are not cheap..
However I have taken the first step and have an appointment with our GP tomorrow..
