Re: Possible opening of Varosha by the Turks??

No, it I think this is a deliberate act, on failure of the talks, to virtually claim Varosha for the North

Re: Nicola Sturgeon Hanging On!

Termitesdream.... I take your points. I think threats today are faced better as a group, such as NATO and as the EU (potentially), as individual countries of the size of the UK cannot afford the massive investments we made in the past. Modern warfare is also fast becoming remotely controlled and the...

Re: Britain faces up to Brexit (source: Economist)

I have to admit that it did appear that David Camerons government did not seem to do any preparation pre BREXIT as they were completely taken by surprise by the result of the referendum. He then spat his dummy out leaving the next leader to pick up the pieces which of course delayed things but I no...

Re: Brexit: Vote Leave chief who created £350m NHS lie on bus admits leaving EU could be 'an error'

Sad that so many have to gang up on someone I find nothing but courteous. His politics/arguments might not sit with yours, but I find the Brexit supporters/right wing supporters (seem to be the same on here) becoming more and more petty, antagonistic and personal.

Re: Nicola Sturgeon Hanging On!

Hudswell, the cuts in armed forces, I think are more linked to modern times. Were are the threats to our UK security? Should we ever interfere in others’ politics again? Surely Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan have taught us lessons we should have learned eons ago. We aren’t a world force, world police f...

Re: Nicola Sturgeon Hanging On!

I happen to have spoken to a serving CID officer, who is being put under pressure to ‘solve’ or ‘shelve’ crimes.... i.e. nothing stays on the books... How Hudswell can possibly say there’s no link between police numbers and crime... Honestly. I respected you more than that. So, if there were no poli...

I’m surprised some would think some of these negative outcomes would occur...

If Britain dont offer agreements for free movement, why should the EU?

I think some on Cyprus, who voted Brexit, might well find their futures limited....

Re: Nicola Sturgeon Hanging On!

I am sure you could..but Pretending Ms Sturgeon is some sort of super politician is just daft, she took over from Salmon,,she was second best...same mantra, same desire, a desire the majority of the Scottish people do not want... And the Police and fire service, cuts yes...devastated...come on now....

Facebook is something many subscribe to, because its where they learn and view the lives of those close to them.... You don't need to contribute... Some call it Fudbook..... Personally, I wish social media had never been invented and I'll celebrate if someone releases a competitor that sends them to...

Re: The Brexit negotiations

Imust be very naive I suppose,as I was amazed to learn that the UK have around 90 negotiators in Brussels at the moment! It is naive to think that 3 politicians can negotiate Brexit.... similarly, decisions of state, budgets etc. are all completed on the advice of Civil Servants... David Davis isn'...

Re: Brexit: Vote Leave chief who created £350m NHS lie on bus admits leaving EU could be 'an error'

I believe that most did get their views from the media, particularly broadcast, but also the Sun and Mail - the largest circulation papers. Farage and Boris had most press time by far. The news also gave most coverage them. Their lies defenitely influenced many. ...and your evidence is? Of course, ...

Re: Advice please. New laptop needed. What is best Apple Macbook or Apple MacBook Air, or a new Microsoft Laptop?

Computer hardware, in the main, has dropped immensely. I started working in the late 80’s for a UK PC manufacturer. The standard then, was 640k memory and 20Mb hard drive. Memory cost around £50 per Mb and PC cost around £3,000. IBM was the standard and the company I worked for, was one of only 3 wo...

Re: So where is the UK's Brexit masterplan?

I actually suspect the EU negotiating team do not have a clue and need the paperwork to remind them....😉 Having that much paper in front of you is showmanship, probably picked up from an office on the way to the photo op.....as Pete so eloquently puts, the main effort of the EU negotiating stance i...

Re: So where is the UK's Brexit masterplan?

This is an arranged press picture.... not manipulated by any side. I’d say, at best, the EU team realised the implications of having piles of paper in front of them against none on the UK side.... although I actually think the UK team decided to be photographed the way it was.... So, thinking this i...
