Re: Today's Walk
Thanks. Was discharged fully from the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital on Monday. Got to go to the local hospital next week to have my lungs tested and to see the phsio about free gym membership, having done all the rehab myself.

Re: Today's Walk
Last week I was walking in temperatures well over 20c, in fact up to 28c. This week, in Wales, only 8c with a really cold northerly wind. It is the Victorian weekend, (Extravaganza and transport festival) this weekend in Llandudno, so I hope it warms up a bit. The good news is that I have been out o...

Re: Easyjet Flights for Feb / Mar 18
Paid £262.94 for 6 flights, two coming out Jan, returning Feb and one coming out end of March. So around £44 per flight, and this includes speedy boarding and upfront seats. We find this worthwhile, especially at Manchester, as the queue for security can be horrendous. It took us well over an hour t...

Huge problems with site trying to book at 7:45 UK time. Keeps on crashing when you try to add seats.

Re: Thomson cruises from Limassol
You can book in the UK via phone or a Thomson travel agent. You might have to insist with them that they can book cruise only without the flights. As a price guide, we were quoted £680 for two of us, £340 each, at our local Thomson travel agent for the 29th March cruise from Limassol to Greek island...

Three or four years ago they were still skiing at Troodos at Easter. The snow was still metres deep. So yes, you could ski and swim in the same day.

Re: Keo beer
Seeing no-one has replied to your post, I will put in my threehalfpence worth. In Gabriels, Kouklia, we pay €2.50 for Keo or Carlsberg. At the chippie in Mandria and even the Chinese/Indian across the road it is the same. A pint of beer at the chippie is €2,but this is usually a can of whatever the ...

Re: Improved coastal walkway Yeroskipou to Kato Paphos..
It is a really good path. Most of it is maintained by the hotels along it. The municipal bits are loose stones, some paving, and edging paving most of the way. The bit passed the Alexander the Great Hotel is concreted, with a slope down to the water gully, which is running at the moment but in summe...

Re: Improved coastal walkway Yeroskipou to Kato Paphos..
Will be brilliant if they put proper lighting along the path. The ground level lighting at the Paphos end of the path was useless even when it was first installed, and now many of the bulbs are broken or the lights have been concreted over. I have done this walk almost daily over the past four weeks...

Re: Today's Walk
Short walk this morning. First photo is the plaque in the courtyard of Penelope's Church. Second, a cat that has hijacked a sunbed someone has reserved by putting their towels on, whilst they went for breakfast. I am sure some members will be able to think of some suitably humorous comments. 2017041...

Re: Today's Walk
It is really called the Inter denominational Church of St. Nicholas. It is situated between the Phaethon Hotel and the Pioneer Beach Hotel, off Poseidonos Avenue. There is a small road on the left down to it. Go passed the Luna Park and the Phaethon Hotel and it is the next small road on the left. Pe...

Today's Walk
Walked from the car park near Luna Park to the harbour and back, setting off at 5:30pm. Have never seen the harbour so busy nor the path, which was very busy with walkers, joggers, serious runners and cyclists. The two tavernas at the harbour near to Pizza Hut were very busy. 20170417_180908 (640 x 4...

Re: Happy Easter everybody
Looked at the menu there last night. Will definitely try it soon. Have friends coming out in May, so it will be another place that we can take them. Very different to when we first bought our house twelve years ago, and the choices of places to eat were very limited, Michaels's by the army camp,or G...

Re: Happy Easter everybody
Gabriel's has become our favourite taverna. Food is consistently good and Gabriel and Sophie make you feel part of their family. When we have visitors in the summer, we always take them to the Greek night on a Thursday(only on during the summer) when the square is closed to traffic. He posts on his ...

20170416_211739 (816 x 459).jpg Had a lovely Easter Sunday. A walk along the front this afternoon in the sunshine from Luna park to the harbour, followed by a meal at Gabriel's in Kouklia tonight. Traditional entertainment in the Square outside the church, with races for the children, followed by t...

Re: A tad windy today!
We managed to follow the sun yesterday. A walk in the morning from Penelope`s Church to the harbour, followed by a coffee sitting in the sun at Ma Bianca. Back to Anarita for lunch, where it was cloudy with a couple of showers. Drove to Agios Georgios in the afternoon, where it was windy but sunny a...

Ours working most of the time. However, BBC iplayer lite does not always work as do some other apps. Followed triotechs advice and reboot the device, which usually solves the problem.
