We lived in London many years ago and were plagued with urban foxes. A fox run appeared at the bottom of our garden. It was suggested that a rag soaked in diesel would deter them- and it did. Good luck.

Does anyone have any experience of the Peltier-effect type of fan (or other type, for that matter) which sits on top of the stove and circulates warm air.

I took in an HP 8600Plus OfficeJet to Paws in Chlorakas last week. It may still be there. It works perfectly, but having retired we don't need umpteen printers around any more!

We had friends over last Christmas, staying at a flat we have. It's a fairly well insulated place, with double glazing and only two outside walls.

The friends used a couple of oil-filled radiators to keep warm. They didn't do much cooking. Our electricity bill was €100 higher than usual!
