Re: landlord/tennant dispute.

Darrow - ''I am well aware that there are people in UK who have only state pension. However we have been here 10 years and were required to show our income sources''. My comment refers to people living here (Cyprus) on a UK State Pension. We live on my husband's UK State Pension - and do well on our...

Re: landlord/tennant dispute.

Have recently been looking at how well rental leases compare and even some of them are not as they seem - not spoken to a Lawyer but do have direct contact with some rental agents who are often queried over tenants rights when the landlord wants his property back. So the fact there is no lease, rent...

Found on the GESY website: The provision of dental healthcare services will be implemented in June 2020. Therefore the catalogue of services will be added at a later stage.

Have done the laundry today - prefer to take the necessary precautions and later find they weren't necessary as I have other plans for the remainder of the week.

Wednesday 26 June 0500-2200 Water Supply Disruption

The Municipality of Pafos announces that on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, water will be discontinued from 05:00 am to 10:00 pm due to the work of the Department of Water Development on the Main Transmission Pipeline. The Municipality of Paphos invites the public to limit the consumption of water to what...

Re: Registering with a PD under GESY?

The mistake was to introduce something as radical as GESY across the whole island without first running a trial in a medium sized community (e.g Polis or Pissouri) Excellent suggestion, even if they had done it District by District eg Nicosia area, that would have been a great idea and then perhaps...

Re: Some meds for chronic diseases not available

Best to phone tomorrow (Monday) to make an appointment. No idea who you are registered with trevnhil, but last week there were one or two comments on FB from people unable to get an appointment with their PD until July (eg Evangelismos). Others have been told by their PD to just turn up and wait and...

Re: Some meds for chronic diseases not available

Appreciate that there will be teething problems as the new system is set up and becomes operational over the next couple of years but even so the prescribed drugs should be available now. Not a good sign that some of the listed medications are not even on the island and that people are having to pay...

Re: Blood tests at Paphos General.

Re " the NHS system is in operation? " my wife had a blood test at a private place on Wednesday and asked if it could be done under the Gesy system.. The lady said she did not know what my wife was talking about and my wife had to pay €115 .. :-( A bit confused as not sure if the blood te...

Re: Registering with a PD under GESY?

Best to go to the PD of your choice as you both have to sign a document and each keeps a copy (Doctor agreeing to take you on list and Patient agreeing to be on the doctor's list). At the same time you ask to have access to your GESY account on-line and PD gives you a code and you receive a second c...

Re: gated communities in Paphos

Gated Communities are like a mini village with facilities like shops, banks etc whereas a gated complex tends to be just properties perhaps with a reception area/admin. Needless to say the management fees on a gated community are far far higher than on a complex and I agree that tehre aren't ant ga...

Re: gated communities in Paphos

I have seen a few gated complexes around eg Elysia Park in Universal which I believe is for holidaymakers and also smaller ones with just a few villas or a complex eg St Nicholas Residence in Chloraka. I think they are a great idea, particularly as the ungated complex where I live had a visit from a...

Re: Electricity prices to rise by more than 5% in June

Happy with my bill up to 2nd June - however it was up by just over €5 compared to last year and I had only used 1 unit more. Appreciate this doesn't include the recent announcement, but so long as I keep within my budgeted amount I'm not really bothered.

I have seen nothing about people not being eligible after August 31st if they do not have an MEU3 Are you saying an MEU1 is not valid now ? MEU1 is valid. MEU3 is valid (have to be resident for 5+ years). My comment refers only to a certain group of British Expats who have not updated their immigra...

Re: Flat Roof Coating

The flat roofs on our complex apartment desperately need to be treated, especially after last winter's prolonged rainfall with ingress of water to some of the top floor apartments. Quotes of work offered and prices vary from a less than €1000 to €14,000+. No wonder the owners are reluctant to contri...
