I've been using the aircons for heating and in the bathroom, which doesn't have aircon, an electric heater.

Re: Heating
I'l go for a combination of inverter aircons and electric underfloor heating. For the latter I was quoted €50/sqm + VAT. Of course, I'll have a PV system. sounds like a plan to me.. who did you get that quote from? For the electric underfloor heating? From https://www.iccyprus.com/ Actually, they q...

If you want to do that than you need a larger PV system than 3 kWp as electric underfloor heating needs a lot of electricity. (ca 150 W/m2) Elec...

Re: Cyprus marks March 25, 1821 anniversary of Greek revolution against Ottoman rule
From an outsider's perspective that looks a bit odd. As if Germany would celebrate e.g. an Austrian anniversary. Not that I mind, but they should really have made passengers aware that public transport would be disrupted. My daughter couldn't get to work in time because in Larnaca there was a parade...

There are over 195 countries in the World, only 10 allow assisted suicide, so your wrong when you try and give the impression its a common thing outside of Cyprus Would you please point to where I gave the impression it was a common thing outside of Cyprus? I'm happy to say though it should be a co...

Re: David Hunter Court verdict
The underlying problem is that "killing on demand" or at least assisted suicide is illegal in Cyprus. In other countries it's a human right. I personally know of 2 people who opted to leave Cyprus for that reason when they were terminally ill (my mother was one of them). There are over 19...

Re: Building Permit
When I had mine installed I gave the company I bought it from power of attorney to apply for permission on my behalf. That was all I had do (except for having my signature certified by the mayor).

Re: Salad
Not sure whether I should tell my recipe for salad dressing because it contains ingredients you can´t buy in Cyprus ("Salat-fix", a bag of condiments you get at each German supermarket). Anyway: I´ll dissolve 1 bag of Salat-fix in about 30 ml of water, add about 150g of sheep yoghourt, mus...

Re: Perfect weather today producing electricity ....
When we have a power cut then power is restored, sometimes the net metering does not turn back on when the power does. If we are away, we lose harvesting until we return and switch the net metering back on. Is that normal? Is it possible to prevent this tripping of the net metering system? Usually ...

Re: Lidl's cordless vacuum cleaner
My daughter tested it this morning for 2 min. It's not top notch (no HEPA- filter), but given the price it's OK. It picked up dog hair from a carpet (short piled, though) quite well.
