Changing Amazon Country

In relation to Dom's post about a book on Amazon.uk not being available on Amazon.com evidently if you have a VPN you can easily change your account to another country but you have to be brave if you don't have an address in that country! And, of course, it only works for downloads but I don't think...

Re: Free Cyprus Book!

Thanks for the heads up Dom, i've downloaded the book. My Kindle was bought from Amazon UK years ago & never had any problems ordering from the UK. I do use a Nationwide card for payment though but it is registered to a Cyprus address.

Re: here we go again!

Exodus Tuppence is correct in regard to Professional Driving Licences (Buses, Coaches, etc). But not for Private Vehicles (Cars, M/Bikes, etc) My licence & the information given is for driving a private car. A friend with a Cypriot professional driving licence wasn’t allowed to drive a bus once ...

Re: here we go again!

When my husband reached 70, a few years ago now, & had his medical done by a private doctor he asked why the Health Certificate wasn’t available in English. The doctor replied that it didn’t translate well! When I got my form this year I scanned it & did a Google translate & it’s perfect...

Re: here we go again!

A consultation period is underway on a bill amending regulations for driving licences for young drivers as well as the elderly. The draft bill provides for granting a learner’s licence at 17, minimum hours of compulsory training for candidate drivers by instructors, as well as annual medical tests ...

Re: here we go again!

If you live in Cy with a Cyprus driving licence then you have to have a medical when you get to 70 to renew it, had mine earlier this year, the next is in three years, then two, and then every year This has been mentioned twice & I would be interested to know where this information came from. M...

Lakeland deliver to Cyprus for 7.50 sterling however much you purchase but not sure about electric blankets. You need to be quick though as their last posting date for Xmas is 6th December. http://www.lakeland.co.uk/24189/Luxury- ... ket---King

Limassol Restaurant

Can anyone recommend a good medium priced restaurant for an evening meal in Limassol? Anything but fish! I have had a look at Trip Advisor but would prefer recommendations from forum users!

(Please can you leave this in the General Section for a couple of days Dominic for a bit more exposure!)

Re: Limassol Cruise Port

Enjoy, Hudswell! We've had a great time as usual. It's been good to visit different areas of the places we've been to before. Would have liked to have spent more time in Rhodes new town today but we leave in about an hour for the long haul home.

Re: Limassol Cruise Port

Update - there is a large car park opposite the new cruise terminal. The charge is still €9 per day & we had to pay the man on entering the car park so handy to have the money ready. There are a lot of road works after the port exit from the motorway but no major hold-ups at the time we went thr...

Re: Citizens advice bureau

Would appreciate any recommendations for a private urologist in Paphos or Limassol, specifically for a prostate problem.

Do you love dogs & have a bit of spare time? More volunteers are needed a couple of hours in the mornings to help feed, replenish water, and clean dog pen areas at the PAWS dog shelter at Acheleia. Choose a morning that suits you. Phone Matt or Pete on 99683775 or call at the shelter any morning...
