Re: Polemi Pavements

One of the contractors has been heard to say they'll be back in 2 years to dig it up as the layout is wrong.

New Art in Town

I'll happily admit I'm not there greatest in the world when it comes to interpreting art, but does anybody understand the significance of the new statue thingies that are appearing around town as part of Paphos 2017 project? The 'rusty' halves seem to have some inscriptions on them but as all the on...

Re: TransferWise

I know several people who are very happy with TransferWise, but for us, moving large amounts of money for our house build and other large projects, the €3 flat rate from CurrencyFair made it a no brainier to use them. They seem to be the two best players in the market - depending on the circumstance...

Why not try Lava in Chloraka? They do a buffet on Thursday evening and Sunday for €9.50. Food is a mix of local and Russian and very tasty. We are going, again, tomorrow!

Its just down the road from Petzstuff if you know where that is.

Re: Loukoumades Day

Dominic - there is a loukoumades van that comes to Polemi quite frequently, or if you don't want to wait for your first taste of crisp fried dough covered in honey, you could buy a packet mix from the supermarket! :D Not sure if it's still the case but it always used to be Wednesday afternoon - par...

Dominic, when you are ready there is someone in the Polemi i can out you in touch with who is part of a group that does organised off road trips. May be the same Group as Polemi Dave mentions but suspect not. Pop ion the shop and say hello - I'm in on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Particularly miserable. From our side of Polemi, the village keeps vanishing in mist of misery. Or is it just my eyes? Dog not happy, zero chance of going out in this.

Re: Anybody know a good place to get wood?

Dominic, Savvas has a small adverts in the Charity Shop and I know Geoff and others have always been happy with the quality of wood provided - he will also check what size burner you have as well and cut accordingly. Cant vouch for him myself as we don't have a word burner.

SurreyBoy - will definitely have helped. We post how much has been donated in the shop window every month, so you help in two ways, firstly by giving people the chance to buy clothing or 'stuff' they may not be able to afford at brand new retail prices, and secondly by contributing to the running co...

Re: Road tax renewals begins January 9

Philipos is excellent, MOT are a fixed price but service /oil changes are very well priced, and if you live in Polemi, it's probably withing walking distance rather than having to hang around or rely on a lift from someone. Or you could come for a browse in the village charity shop!
