Re: What are these mystery tags?

I don't want to ruin your Blog as it should go actually into the Puzzle/Quizzes section.... :)
So far only a hint: it all has to do with water...
Anyhow, very nice pics again Dominic.

Re: Some Pic's from Platres.

Actually, Max, I've just thought of something that might be of photographic and geological interest for you, with some souveniers to take home. Not too far from you, either! We're talking about exposed Crystals / Quartz again, my friend... Head down through Episkope as if you're driving up the othe...

Re: Some Pic's from Platres.

That reservoir is indeed pretty full. Much more so than it normally is. It will feature in a soon to be published blog, and I will look up the name there. It is the one just past Kelefos Bridge though, if you can't wait. In order to transfer the water of this dam (Arminou dam)via pipe to Limassol (...

The day after, the moon was not really less red.... but I would need also a proper tripod and larger zoom camera to get better pics..

Every 2-3 days, weekends a bit longer... I have the link bookmarked and control it twice a week at least.

Re: Red moon to grace Cyprus on Monday

Hi Max I only have a bridge camera, but the zoom is 60x, which is very helpful when taking photos of the moon! The pics are cropped too. I have a Nikon. They also do one with a 90x zoom which I was tempted by, but it's quite a bit bulkier and heavier, and I wanted to find the balance between a good...

Re: Water saving measures (Communal council)

Some of you sound a bit "gung ho" where water usage is concerned.but the hard facts are that according to the Govt water development dept -reservoir water storage figures, the Asprokremnos Dam (serves Paphos area) is presently only 31% full , while the Everitou Dam which serves the wider ...

EAC and government clash over solar park (CMail..)

Interesting is this part of the article that finally EAC admits that Solar PV is cheaper to produce electricity than they do now: "The EAC wants to self-finance and operate a 20MW photovoltaic (PV) power station inside the Sovereign Base Area (SBA) of Akrotiri, in what it says will reduce its o...

Re: Red moon to grace Cyprus on Monday

The bright spot is actually a surface feature on the moon, (ie a crater) that has high mountains around it, the peaks of which are still gathering sunlight... Just can't find its name at the moment. Second photo shows the eclipse even better than the first, Max! Tripod, or hand held? Aperture? Expo...

Re: Gas for older A/C units

Whatever you decide Bograt, don't forget that some Winter can be quite cold also near the sea, and humid! Don't go for something cheap because it will be more expensive in the long run for heating and cooling. You said you hate being cold, so you have to run the split units on heating for many hour...

It's cloudy in our little corner of Polemi, so we won't see anything. I am not an expert for night pics but I tried it... .just for Dominic http://up.picr.de/30020893sf.jpg Max Max, if you took that picture of the partially eclipsed Full Moon this very evening, then I have to award you 10/10...

Thank you both for your reply. Al, thanks for asking for more info - here goes as well as I can: There are two bedrooms upstairs in the house, one downstairs. All bedrooms are I guess an "average" size, the upstairs ones have en-suites, so I'd be using the air con to heat/cool both the ro...

Re: Water saving measures (Communal council)

Keep a watching brief on your village Muktar's house in the next couple of months, Max! ie: the condition of his pool (if he has one), his lawns, flowerbeds, driveway, pavement, etc. As this rings bells from CL a few years back, regarding serious water shortages in Pegeia... Which apparently affect...

With the last increase of the water bill there was also attached a letter with Water saving measures of the village council. I wonder how they expect to maintain a garden and pool in Summer with this regulations... Did anybody received a similar letter :?: http://up.picr.de/30016693lo.jpg Max

What you want with this link? Is from 24.7. - much less water in the dams now I guess... ;) and last year the Asprokremnos Dam was only 53% :!:
