Re: Transfer of vehicle ownership

If you buy a car through a dealer then you usually don't have to go in the person. The dealer will look after all the paperwork after you have signed it.

Re: Paphos Car Show at the Harbour

It's actually the Paphos Classic Vehicle Club that is organising it. It will open to the public at 10.00.

I posted the flyer a while ago but here it is again.

Re: Sat nav

Try "Sygic" on a smartphone.

It uses Google maps as a base but I find it easier to use. The downside is that it shows a lot of the tracks in the countryside and it is hard to distinguish them from roads. It does NOT use them when showing you a route.

Re: Petrol station attendants

The way the self-service machine works is that you set a maximum limit on your card or pay a sum cash. You don't "pay" by card. When you go to the pump it will only pump up to that maximum. If you paid by cash and don't use all the amolunt you lose the excess because it cannot give change....

Call in to the Tala PO and collect it. Open from 07.30 to 10.20 (I think) before the older lady does her rounds.

If you live in Cyprus then you should know that most of the problems in the ports are caused on one side by DP World (the now owner) cutting costs by hitting the workers. (or introducing modern practices, depending on who you vote for!)

Re: Proof of Residence

My wife solved this problem afte having trouble proving address to somebody in the UK. She is a half-owner of the house so just went up to the council and got the water bill put into her name instead of mine. No charge and done straight away. Next bill arrives and hey presto she now has a utility bi...

Try Makers Space in Tala near the monastery. She sells bags of clay to the potters who use her studio.

I am not a frequenter of the general hospital. Only been there for my jabs so don't know where the GP's offices are and don't even know whether the entrance I use is the main one!! If you use the entrance on what I think of as the "front", with a cafe outside, you go in through the right-h...

If you make an appointment and it is "Room B" - they have moved it!! No signs, no directions. Go to where "Room B" used to be and turn left at the end of the corridor. Turn left again and you are there. I had an appointment but assumed that "Room B" was in the same plac...

Re: Geroskipou Bypass

It's great for access to the industrial area but it is hardly a by-pass because it doesn't go anywhere!

No sign of any work to cross the ravine near McDonalds, even though they are working on the road alongside it.

Since there is a sign inside Superhome Centre saying that it will be closed on Ochi Day, I think the rumours of permanent closure are a bit premature.

Yesterday's figures show over 76% of hospitalisations are unvaccinated so I think I will stick with the vaccinated thanks.
