Re: NHS Problems

Smudger. Sounds like jealousy.... Paternity leave is up to 2 weeks, at £140 a week statutory pay (some employers MAY choose to pay more). If they do, that's a perk of the job. Good employers realise the worth of their company is the quality of their staff - not necessarily the product or service. Ma...

Re: NHS Problems

Smudger, it sounds like you did a good job, but please dont rely on sources like the Daily Mail for your views on modern society. My son is a 'nucleur family' in your terms.... He has two kids at 14 months.... received no support for child care or any other stuff you imply... I was a single father, ...

Re: Labour election results 'catastrophic'

I was reminded of this on another forum earlier... I don't like Labour, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like Labour, denigrate means 'put down'. You have a bloody cheek to call me out earlier, for being slightly abusive towards you,,, when you denigrate all labour...

Re: Ireland & Brexit

Jimgward: Two points: 1. The 'North of Ireland' is NOT Northern Ireland. It may seem pedantic, but believe me, it is a crucial point! 2. I think that you'd be surprised (as would Nicola Sturgeon) as to whether the union of the UK is stronger than the union of the EU. As I said to Dominic - no harm ...

Re: Chelsea Win Premiership Title

I love Football, and respect any Team/Player that plays the game the right way One of my favourite phrases - who decided that there was a 'right way' to play football? Is tip-tap sideways stuff better than long ball forwards? I think you'll find that many teams of the present and past have shown th...

Re: NHS Problems

The figure at this time would be around £2b a year, with much used until up in legal costs. A staggering figure, none the less, but the notion that nearly 75% of the NHS budget goes in litigation doesn't nothing to help.... The NHS is a wonderful instituion, badly run in many respects and with many ...

Absolutely correct Royal, the process is already in place to allow a "referendum" in order to reunify the island, if the Majority of those in the Province wish to....the simple fact is the vast majority don't.....so Whilst the EU may be concerned about a "Hard Border", in regard...

It doesn't look a natural cave. The lines across the bottom of it... I assume it was a defensive cave at some time... or maybe a hermit?

Re: French Election

Le Pen was National Front and the fact she won a third of the vote, shows nationalism is strong in France and their country rocked with racism and strife.... I don't think it's necessarily any endorsement for leaving the EU. Macron would hardly be called leftist in any way, he just happens to be ver...

Let's ncingbe clear. Watching an internet stream of a to broadcast, film or even music is illegal, whether you download it or not. You are stealing the copyright holders' wares. Banning Pre-loaded kodi boxes is the easiest way for lawmakers to try to stop this growing any faster than it is. There ar...

Re: What amount do you think the UK should settle with the EU?

Interesting that Ireland is and could be one of our most important partners, yet dislike of Ireland and the Irish is still strong in the Uk. Not to do with a`IRA atrocities, it predates that and is more a religious/cultural dislike. Ireland is one of our important partners, not could be, they are n...

Sky hasn't taken any initiative, like every broadcaster worldwide - although in the US, they are far more open... I believe if Steve Jobs had lived that Apple would have cracked the nut of media provisioning. He did it with iTunes, when music publishers were against any form of licence. He managed t...

Re: Boris strikes again.....

In other words, Boris can engage the UK into an armed conflict, single handed, without a parliamentary say-so. Shades of Blair! North Korea may be next on his list. Exactly. The man is an out of control buffoon.... I'll never forget his reasoning that every British pound should be spent on London -...
