Re: So, the DUP suddenly becomes the most powerful party in present Europe
I am confused, probably because I am not of UK origin. Does the "DUP" want a hard or soft (= none!) border with Eire? Amos. Actually, they want a soft border, but exact same conditions as the rest of the U.K. That means, if the Uk ends up with a hard brexit and no membership of the EE zon...

Re: So, the DUP suddenly becomes the most powerful party in present Europe
Notwithstanding your views of the DUP, they have a point...Northern Ireland is part of the UK, and the UK will leave the EU, Ms Sturgeon and the Major of London have already jumped on the bandwagon and insisting any "special arrangement" can also apply to Scotland and London! Eire and the...

So, the DUP suddenly becomes the most powerful party in present Europe
A party stuck in the 17th century, openly bigoted, sectarian and with links to paramilitaries, but endorsed by May and her more than £1bn handout/bribe.... A deal is about to be struck between May and Junker..... then the DUP has a press conference and ultimatum..... May leaves the talks to call Fos...

Re: Half of Britons now support a second vote...
You seem to enjoy the bickering Exodus. You are certainly good at posting a contentious comment and standing back to watch what happens. What is contentious about my comment? Thought provoking maybe - if you Brits THOUGHT things through a bit more maybe you would not feel the need to bicker. I hope...

Re: Pharma firms to invest over £1bn in Manchester and London
Here’s a wee scenario....
IF all Brexit voters and Remain voters, were to have their passports marked thus, and we have a hard brexit, what about a fictional scenario that only Remain voters could remain in other EU countries? Fun dream or nightmare....

HUDSWELL, you’re problem is always, Brtitin=Good, Everyone who has fought us, has a grievance=bad You’re a typical ex-serviceman who wont accept that Britain could have committed attrocities, especially perpetrated by its military. Nobody is saying that Eoka or any other group did not commit attroci...

Re: So, what of the £350 million a week for the NHS?
“The Irish Question” - used to be a continual part of parliamentary debate.... It may now scupper any chance of a negotiated Brexit. You cant blame the Irish. They are protecting the free movement they have enjoyed and should be entitled to. We now have Ian Paisley Jr spouting in typical DUP fashion...

Hudswell, thanks for those. Interesting reading. Jimmy, I haven't seen good news stories being posted at all. In fact, Hudswell's are the first I recall as proper ones. I hope these articles are correct, Some of it at present is speculation and hope, but from hope comes progress. I truly hope Brexit...

Re: Nice to see Theresa May has spoken up!
I heard a good debate on Five Live this morning with Nicky Campbell. The conclusion was, let Trump come for a visit to the UK, but don't suppress protests from him and the oxygen he thinks he's getting will suffocate him. An American caller, who now lives in Manchester, says all her family back home...

Re: There's something nasty in my apple....
Nokia and Microsoft are two companies who totally underestimated apple. Nokia eventually sold its phone business to Microsoft, who killed it. Neither understood that consumer choice drives need and unfortunately they and RIm (blackberry) suffered. I say unfortunate as it is good for the consumer to ...

That's unbelievable! :D It is things like this which is why I am sticking to Windows 7 (64 bit) and IE11. Amos. Haha.... good luck! If you think Windows is more secure than MacOS.... well... This is a major flaw.... as Microsoft and all other OS systems have suffered over the years.... I'm af...

Re: So, what of the £350 million a week for the NHS?
I don't feel any loyalty towards the EU as a hierarchical entity. I do think Brexit is a mistake for the reasons Lloyd has said. And more. GDP has been seriously affected. The UKs forecast for growth over the next 4 years is around half the Eurozone. Johnson, despite warnings from the ONS, continues...

Re: Kodi fights back - As crackdown continues Kodi launches this ‘awesome’ update
Hudswell, I am sure we all remember the advent of Casette tapes and the ability to record form Vinyl and the ensuing debates over legality. Since the quality was never great, it wasn't pursued vigorously by the music companies, such as Sony, however there was no doubt that everyone who 'illegally' r...

Re: Beyond Fabrica Hill
I attended Catholic mass in the Church, a few times, when I had my mother over in Cyprus at the age of 87. This was about 10 years ago and the Church was actually, for a relative newcomer, hard to find by car. It didn't, even then, have so much of the 'walkway' steelwork in place. An interesting asi...

What a depressing world you live in Hudswell; you've been preaching the same doom-laden message for the past five years. Your own viewing habits are not entirely legal, though you use all kinds of convoluted arguments to convince yourself that they are. Nope, hate to disappoint, I actually live in ...
