Re: Trapped snake highlights problem with animal protection in Cyprus

Whilst accepting that it wasn't a matter for the police or fire brigade, I wonder why they just didn't point the people in the direction of someone that could help rather than just the standard shrug of the shoulders.

You can also get your bill sent to you by email and then you pay by jccsmart so everything is under your control from wherever you are in the world.

Re: Electricity Bill

Is there any reason why your son cannot go into the AIK office at the top of Butcher Boy road and pay any outstanding bills. I think supply is cut off based on the time a bill has not been paid not the amount. If power is cut off a re-connection charge of at least €50 has to be paid.

Try Jumbo, although I detest having to make the full journey around the Jumbo maze just to buy one item.

Re: Problems with AirBNB

As Trev said - what IP law prevents renting? It doesn't cover renting of the property, I never said it did but, more to the point, it covers the behaviour of occupants of the property under Part IV (Rights and Obligations of Owners or Occupiers of Units)-Standard Regulations for the Regulation and ...

Re: Problems with AirBNB

The problem is not just with AirBnB. There are other companies out there that run similar operations. On our complex we had a similar problem last year with an unruly Brit. He had rented the property on a long term basis directly from the local Cypriot owner, even though he had relatives living clos...

Re: New vehicle registration law will favour early birds

This proposal is a more logical one than that used a few years ago in the middle of the financial crisis. Then non-payers by the end date for payment were offered a discount to pay.

Guess what happened the next year. No-one paid in anticipation of getting a similar discount.

Over many, many years I have always found Lloyds postings informative and helpful to all members , some just join forums to argue and point fingers, forums are here to help and advise other members not get involved in politics that we have no real control over, most of us live on Cyprus, many of us...

Re: Medical card for treatment at General Hosp.

Found this on the NHS England website, which may be of use to some. It states that you CAN access public hospitals for pre-existing health issues, not just for emergency. It also covers routine maternity care, provided you aren't using the system to give birth. Of course, this advice is for holiday...

Re: Medical card for treatment at General Hosp.

One condition that you should fulfil to be able to get regular (as opposed to emergency) treatment at the General Hospital is to be in receipt of a UK State Pension. As has been previously posted you should also be a resident.

Perhaps they have not been here 5 years ? If you read the text , they cover that . “However it is expected that those resident for less than five years will be allowed to stay to accrue that period.” Exactly!! So it would help if people, to name no names, would read the posting before accusing othe...

Re: Our public hospital filing system is shameful

At Paphos General patients keep their files in their possession. So when you attend hospital you take your file with you and the attending doctor has immediate access to your records. Not an ideal situation by any means but better than Limassol by the sounds of things. I thought I heard a while back...

Hand the urine specimen to the dragon lady at the same time that you hand the papers over to her to get the bottles for your blood tests.

Also, are you expecting it to be empty or are you expecting there to be data on it?
I can see nothing on that drive. I thought all my data files were on that drive but they are under 'user' on the C: Drive.

I think it's going to need a visit to Computer SOS

Re: Running Out of Space on E: Drive?

If I had to guess at anything, I would guess that at some point you set up a backup system, which has created a hidden file on Drive E. This backs up your data, and has gradually been getting bigger and bigger. Does that ring any bells? But wouldn't that show up as file(s) on the drive and not show...

Re: Running Out of Space on E: Drive?

Is your recycle bin on your E drive? How big are your two drives? I appear to have 2 recycle bins, one on each drive. After being asked if I wanted to clean up drive E: it showed that the amount of space that could be recovered by emptying the recycle bin on that drive was NIL. Drive C: 465GB of wh...

Running Out of Space on E: Drive?

I am constantly getting messages that I am running out of space on my E: drive. My hard drive is partitioned into a C: and E: drive. In Windows Explorer I open E: Drive and get the message 'This folder is empty'. However when right clicking on my mouse and choosing properties it does in fact show th...

Yes, just wanting to reiterate something I had stated earlier and to show that comments can be made without sarcasm, which we all know is the lowest form of wit. However some fall on deaf ears.
