Re: Greek Extremists
Personally, I find none of the titles given to be offensive in any way, & find it a bit strange that anyone would, Ireland is historically made up of 4 provinces, Ulster being one of them. If & when the people decide on re-unification, I will be quite happy to call the country of my birth th...

Re: Update on Ruby....
How utterly devastating for you both, it is truly heartbreaking to lose a pet, but you've made the right decision for Ruby.
As Dominic said, ' chin up girl ', I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

Re: Nicola Sturgeon Hanging On!
It's all just semantics Jim, Wales is a principality, I consider it a country, some consider NI a ' province ' I do not, as it is the country of my birth.

Re: Nicola Sturgeon Hanging On!
I think that's a pretty poor analogy Shane, a better one would have been the 6 counties of Northern Ireland, who voted to remain as part of the UK., Eire didn't get a vote. I think people forget that the UK consists of 4 separate countries & it is purely the will of the people of those countries...

I agree Dominic, I also believe that the right wing press are partly to blame, hateful rantings just fuel such extreme views.

Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
As the visiting team, I thought it was outrageous that they refused to honor the 2 Australian women that died in the attack in London, , surely they must have understood that it would cause offense to their hosts. I'm puzzled that it was reported most of the team that play for the National s...

Re: Divine retribution?
It is no coincidence that the hunting livery bares a resemblance to a military uniform, their association is well documented. A uniform of the 18th Century soldier with the number of buttons depicting the ' hierarchy ' We, in my opinion, to our shame, have exported this brutal activity across the gl...

Re: Divine retribution?
Dominic, It was never my intention to denigrate or insult farmers/poultry keepers, perhaps I should have elaborated on the issue, the fox hunters have always demonized the fox as the major instigator in animal attacks. Living & working in the beautiful county of North Yorks, with a large rural &...

Re: Divine retribution?
WHL, Your assumption is incorrect, I still live & work, ( full-time ), in the ' real ' world, & I can assure you that I have never held the view that the fox is a ' cuddly, Basil Brush ' character, I see it for what it is...a magnificent & beautiful wild predator, that has been much mali...

Rita, With respect, I find it absolutely outrageous that you have implied in your post that those of us against foxhunting condoned the abhorrent behaviour of the activists that desecrated that poor woman's grave. how dare you, It was a despicable act, carried out by unhinged lunatics, associ...

Re: Divine retribution?
Wow!, so according to the world of WHL, anyone that has an opinion about cruelty to animals, has to keep it to themselves if they eat meat. Haven't you espoused on other subjects about the restrictions being put on freedom of speech, or does it only matter when it suits your own narrative :r...

Re: Divine retribution?
I never realized that it was a prerequisite to be a Vegan in order to justify opposition to the cruel treatment of animals. :?: It has always irritated me that the pro-hunting fraternity & the right wing press like the Daily Hate, have consistently referred to the fox as ' vermin ', DEFRA, ( Dep...

Re: Divine retribution?
All ' blood sports ' are an abomination & should be permanently banned, it is derisible classing it as ' sport ' when we all know it is about a small minority of like minded individuals & their minions, poncing about the countryside on horseback in their blood colored coats on a soirée. An e...

Morning Aphrodite,
I'm assuming that you mean 'tofu', Phillipos sell Quorn products which are a good alternative, though much pricier than the UK,
I hope that helps.
