Re: U.K. Isolation
It seems a bit of an overkill, if arriving from Cyprus having completed 2 vaccinations with a recognised Covid 19 vaccine. I have my hospital vaccination card, plus my European vaccination passport. I will have had a PCR test 72 hrs before flight and am required to have booked 2 more in the UK on my...

Penny pinching comes to mind. If you want professional advice you have to pay for it. Otherwise look at the resale market.

You could sign up to the emails from Gov.UK, which are a useful and accurate guide to traveling by air. At present there is a lot of information available, but due to the current situation with Covid things can change very fast.

Yes, I agree. By moving the bones police investigators will have less to go on in terms of collecting evidence. Seems a strange thing for anyone to do.

Re: 529 new cases of COVID-19, no death on Friday
Yes, think you're right. My sister lives in NSW, Australia. They are in full lockdown mode where she lives. Though to date they only have 30 cases. In fact she tells me that all the state's in Oz have individually closed their state borders to each other. The country is still very short of vaccine, ...

Very true. Has the President forgotten that? Though the Mari explosion occurred during the previous president, Demetris Christofias watch.
But over the last week there have also been a number of terrible fires.

Re: Tourism industry left reeling as Cyprus moves into ECDC Red Category..
Yes, the 18-30yr olds, who have not come forward in numbers to take up the Govt offer to be vaccinated. Plus a section of anti vaxers in the population. Coupled with a reluctance to wear masks and a need to socialise in big groups. Its very sad for the rest of us especially those of us who were plan...

Re: New measures announced tonight regarding vaccinations
No, why do you think that? I think that the health authorities here and the Cabinet have 'been guided by the rapidly increasing number of cases each day. The number yesterday was 525. I expect detailed data which is available to the Govt shows which ages these cases are coming from. The Govt push to...

Re: 529 new cases of COVID-19, no death on Friday
If only everyone would wear masks, adopt social distancing in places like coffee bars, bars and in restaurants and refrain from holding large gatherings where no protocols are practiced. The number of cases of Covid virus are escalating now on a daily basis. Yet a section of the population would app...

Re: COVID Digital Certificate
I found it quite easy to work out how to fold it. I printed it out and got two copies. The first part had oddly half the page upside down. While the 2nd page had all parts correct facing the same direction. I just folded that in half, then into a quarter. This became a small booklet, which looks OK....

Re: Proportions of the huge fire at Kamares recently.. video
I used to live in Zelemenos in one of the houses which was near the far top edge of the ravine. Those houses were spared, though the fire from the ravine came very close indeed. My heart goes out to the poor folks living on the Karmi/Kamares side. The video is quite shocking as to the fires ferocity...

Re: Turkish Cypriot authorities condemn EU's rejection of two-state solution
No again you are wrong, WHL. The EU will be pleased to accept the whole island, if it were reunited in some workable form. But they were not prepared to accept two states of a divided Cyprus. The north is administered by Turkey, as you know. Suspended or not, the EU and the UN are both trying to wor...

Re: Jet 2 Cancels flights again.
Well in this spate of flight cancellations, I just had confirmation that my Ryanair flight to the UK is going as advertised. Previously, I have had multiple bookings for EasyJet flights cancelled, and have stopped attempting to book with them. They advertise 3 flights a week to Bristol, but have no ...

Re: Turkish Cypriot authorities condemn EU's rejection of two-state solution
Oh, DHL we'll never agree! The only part of this lovely island which was able to join the EU in 2004 was the part in the southern 2/3 of it, which forms the Republic of Cyprus. The northern part proclaimed itself as a separate entity and it is administered by Turkey. Although the EU has given it suf...

Re: Jet 2 Cancels flights again.
Well, Diocletian that's a broad brush statement. It seems there are many people in the UK who want to holiday abroad where the sunshine is more guaranteed than in the UK. But they don't want to quarantine when they return. Also the travel industry badly needs to get going again. Travel agents, airli...
