Re: View Recent Posts

Alternatively, you can change your theme under user preferences to prosilver2. That has written links as opposed to the quicklink menu.

Re: PUBLIC HOLIDAYS CYPRUS 2017

I have copied the data to a Useful Information thread pinned to the top of the forum. This is read only, and I will add to it when people post useful infomration in other threads. :)

Re: subsilver2

Yes, I have just added this.

Bear in mind that Subsilver2 was optimised for phpBB 3.1 and this is site runs on phpBB 3.2, so there may be odd behaviour.

I also need to install the logo, because I installed this about 5 minutes ago!

Re: Avatar

I have added prosilver2, so you should be able to change it now.

Bear in mind though, that this board is running phpBB 3.2, and the prosilver2 theme is optimised for 3.1. So use at your own risk. I tested it and it looked fine though.

All I need to do now is install my ace logo in the top left.

Re: New to this but strangely familiar.

Hi Dave! I was at Nick's gathering. I was the one who said he helped when our car needed fixing. We've already had lots (LOTS) of grapes, and fruit. Once an old man knocked on our door and gave us a hot pudding in tin foil that was lovely. If you see a very muddy white Pajero that may well be me. My...

Re: Papantonous opening

I don't know. I've heard Cypriots direct me past PAPanTOEnios in the past. Caps indicate emphasis.

AlphaMega was heaving today. We had to park on the 3rd level.

Keeping the same format was easy. It's the default setting. :D

Re: Problems Registering

Technically I didn't. I just fudged it. :) The problem was the site was a victim of its own success. So many people registered in a short space of time that Google assumed the server was sending out spam. So I am in the process of finding another provider. The default one works for most email addres...

Re: Daily Weather Info

This does raise a good question. If I was to use raw data from a weather service, I could display it any way I wanted. However, in order to get that data, I would have to ask for it for a specific location. As cyprusmax47 points out, there is no point just having the weather in Paphos, so what other...

Re: Daily Weather Info

Ok, Paphoslife is black tie and Accuweather is wearing trainers, so I need to create a tradesman's entrance so that Accuweather can deliver its goods without getting the carpet dirty.

Re: Daily Weather Info

Try weatherunderground .com. It does weather for many locations including Paphos. It is usually pretty accurate! Dee Actually this one is worth looking at too. It has a free API for low usage (under 500 requests a day) which is good, because all I would need to do is cache the information once ever...

Re: Daily Weather Info

I did try implementing Accuweather into the main site last night. The first stab was unsuccessful, as PaphosLife uses SSL security (https), and Accuweather wants to serve everything up over http. The problem there is that a lot of modern browsers (and especially Chrome) disallow http over https. So ...

Re: UK Winter

Yes it was a shame they lost their last game. Should have won that. Hopefully they will exact their revenge on Saturday. I am used to them doing well for a bit and then tanking. They appear to have had a semi-tank earlier on in the season and they got over that, so here's hoping. I was born at an RA...
