Re: Amazon UK..

Time and again HIC manages to change a post that started about Amazon to cover his favourite topic of how stupid the people who voted for Brexit are and the usual I told you so blah blah blah and how great the EU is. An interesting piece of journalism was written by Mark Almond (Author, Lecturer of ...

Re: Heartless

At Last !!!!! Something myself and HIC can completely agree on. Having recently arrived back to the UK I am astounded at how people seem to be at different ranges of the spectrum. In one hand you have people who are abiding by the constant rule changes to the point some are being completely over the...

Re: Coronavirus: Vaccinations will be mandatory says minister

Vaccines normally take 3-5 years of testing in order to identify any medium to long term side effects. I certainly would not take a vaccine that has been rushed through without the relevant testing periods.

Re: UK Government can't say it wasn't warned...

Jeba - I do not see how you can compare private industry to local and national government, no private company as stated would stockpile PPE or ventilators on the off chance - unless previously paid for, I have never known the UK government or any government make it mandatory for private enterprise t...

Jimgward - a fair and balanced appraisal - I would go back though to preparation, I still feel that unprecendented demand has far outweighed the natural internal and external supply chains however as I have said the numbers of suppliers with stock and companies that moved away from their normal busi...

HIC - as per usual you have quoted figures to suit your argument, Greece, New Zealand, Singapore, Cyprus all with small populations. London like Madrid and New York and other main metropolis are densely populated and as such were always going to have a high mortality rate, Sweden has the highest dea...

HIC - UK Bashing as per usual. As a so called businessman how many millions of pound worth of stock do you sit on ?? It is totally unrealistic to expect companies to sit on millions of pounds worth of PPE, Ventilators etc in the possible event of a global crisis. The CEO of one the top vaccine and i...

Re: Not what we wanted to hear: it's looking like a No Deal :(

Why should the UK and Boris just roll over, well done to Boris for threatening to make Nigel Farage the UK's Commissioner in Brussels and to Veto the EU Budget, why shouldn't we Veto this budget or any other policy - the budget has never had proper scrutiny or balanced for the last 30 years apparent...

Re: Not what we wanted to hear: it's looking like a No Deal :(

Totally agree with Dominic's post regarding Brexit and HIC & others. HIC has spent 2 years fighting the corner of the remainers which is his prerogative but to constantly be the one who posts "I Told You This Would Happen" or 'I Predicted This or I Predicted That" has got on every...

Re: So, the Autocratic Dictator Johnson is Proroguing parliament. Very democratic.

Being tax efficient is what most people / households do who have a relatively good income, I do not agree with Tax Avoidance Schemes and they should be made illegal and subject to EU Scrutiny - that rich given the EU has never submitted accounts in all the time in its existence and they want to scru...

Re: So, the Autocratic Dictator Johnson is Proroguing parliament. Very democratic.

Lets not forget Labours stance in all this as it has changed at every turn. Boris has had his hands tied at every turn by Pro Remainers who do not respect the result of the referendum. Emily Thornbury has stated on a politics programme the other day that should labour win an election she will negoti...

Re: God help the UK!

A good piece - many would say that the way it is written is by a man with an axe to grind. For all his short comings the conservative members voted him in so as they same time will tell. I am certainly not going to judge a man by how many women he has bedded or people he may have upset, I think the ...

Re: A specially strained relationship

Trade deals cannot be done until the UK leaves the EU end of, Liam Fox can speculate as much as he likes but no one knows for sure how long it will take. It certainly won't be 15 - 20 years as the UK does not need the agreement of 27 other states. We go, we negotiate, we sign, 6 months 6 years howev...

Re: God help the UK!

My personal gut feeling is that he will go for a snap election, with labour doing a U turn (6m voters gone for sure) and the Brexit Party already talking to Bojo and his aides etc I suspect it would be enough for Bojo to take the gamble and go for the general election in order to get a majority in t...

Re: Racism’s ugly head and Brexit being an excuse to allow it...?

Could not agree more Dominic - Brexit has brought more scum to the surface since the referendum but like you said they have been around for decades along with racism in all its different aspects. The UK has been a nation that has welcomed people from all over the world, different races, colours and ...

Re: God help the UK!

I watched his first speech on BBC news last week and I felt that Bojo did extremely well, put Corbyn well and truly in his place and McDonald was so incensed he almost walked out but thought better of it. What struck me was the Tory benches looked energised. I liked May and have often said she was p...

Re: Light at the end of Boris' dark tunnel?

Sajid Javid is a smart cookie and obviously thinks he can generate the money somewhere to fund various proposals so far put forward by Bojo. He seems to be trying to take the bull by the horns and fight for either a better deal or will try to go for a no deal which I suspect will require a snap gene...

It is usually a rare occasion that I agree with HIC but I agree entirely with HIC sentiments on this occasion. Most damming thing I felt was prior to Corbyn coming into power Anti-Semitic complaints were few and far between yet in the last 3 Years there has been a thousand complaints. That said for a man who has always been happy to play hosts to many different terrorist organisations and dubious individuals...
