Assisted Living

The assisted living centre has small apartments, but everyone eats at a central cafeteria. One morning, one man didn't show up for breakfast, so one of the lady residents went upstairs and knocked on his door to see if everything was OK. She could hear him through the door, and he said that he was r...

Re: IPT TAX

I suspect the developer is trying to get Cogs123 (and probably other owners of the complex) to pay some or all of the developer's IPT plus overdue charges for the years prior to 2014 when title deeds were issued.....

Re: Car Insurance for TRNC (Update)

Geoffreys, thanks for posting this information. Do you (or anyone else) happen to know if the price for a twin cab is the same as for a car?

I suspect there'd only be one in it, Pete, so not worth Dominic's time and effort to set it up - unless you want to troll the Troll! Far easier to warn and if necessary ban the offending member.

Dominic, many thanks for a good, informative and predominantly friendly site :D

Re: Peyia Mayor Declares War on Tax Cheats

They should not have been allowed to not pay their dues for so long - can you see either Cyta or AHK allowing us individuals to incur large bills and not pay them for years and years? But because it's hotels (predominantly, apparently), the various unpaid services cannot be shut off/withdrawn becaus...

The closure of certain roads happens every winter but it doesn't appear to stop those determined to try to break a limb (or more) on the ski slopes

Re: Paphos Looking to Tap Into Medical Tourism

Good idea - providing it becomes (and remains) a centre of excellence. Paphos certainly does not need any medical horror tales about surgery gone wrong. And of course, depending on what this proposed medical centre will specialise in, it might also be used to help reduce the waiting lists at the Gen...

I have a vague recollection of seeing some picnic benches outside AA Homeflame on the Mesoghi avenue (Paphos-Polis road).

The little building near the beginning of the blog, set beside 2 electricity poles, is probably the housing for the main electricity meter.

Keving ad photolady... Which brings us back to my Reaction A and comment thereafter... Reaction A) Good shot, soldier. I'm torn between Reaction A) Good shot, soldier. But you should have finished the job to prevent others from following this guy's example. (Which maybe leads to us becoming as bad and ruthless as the terrorists themselves :( ) and Reaction B) Surely one well aimed shot would have been sufficient to ...

Re: Large Green Rubbish Bins

The municipality replaces them - eventually. The Polemi bins tend to have "KSP" painted on them in Greek letters, to differentiate from private bins, like those by the Olive Tree and outside Pavlos Supermarket. One in Agios Dimitrianos has been repaired so many times, it's tricky to lift t...

Olivia, perhaps you didn't realise when you joined, but this forum is based in Paphos, CYPRUS and so this thread is about Eating Out in Cyprus, particularly Paphos. A list of UK fish'n'chip shops is not really relevant to most of us. :)

Re: Deliveries - do they go to your home address?

But the postman knows where we live anyway :) Trev.. Yes, Nikitas cannot find our house to deliver our post, but he sure managed to find it quickly enough when his little ankle nipper lived up to the name and tried to take a chunk out of OH's leg! :D He also managed to find our house when he was st...
