Re: Is this the EU remainers still want to be a part of?

Which I assume that applies to any article that actually gives an alternative view of those that would wish to remain in the EU? I'm neither for nor against Brexit as it will have little effect on me (personally), either way. OTOH, I'm able to evaluate such articles for what they are worth, nothing.

Re: Dash Cam

Result of this thread: my dashcam was installed 3½ years ago and gave good results. I've been sleeping on both ears and not checked its working for 2 years ++. Yesterday, I brought in the memory chip, put it in the 'puter. It was not even detected! I don't know yet whether the problem is just the ch...

Re: What to do in a medical emergency?

Thank you all for your help, we wasn't aware of the 112 number so will save to phone. 112 works in nearly every country in the world; it is an international emergency number. In the UK, it works the same as 999 and here in Cyprus, the same as 199. Even the Vatican City has it, but they say that a p...

Re: Tipping !

The service charges in Cyprus restaurants etc. are automatically included at 15% by law. EVERY restaurant etc. is obliged to charge it; it is a given.

Re: Tipping !

OK, let me be clear. You go to a Cypriot restaurant and the bill comes to, say, €100. Assuming no alcohol, you actually pay the bistrot €92.60, the 8% difference going to the VAT man. You also pay €13.05 for service, so the restaurant receives €79.55 for the food, out of which all the overheads and ...

Re: Tipping !

As in many European countries, tipping is unnecessary and undesirable for normal service. Prices in restaurants, taxis (meters), hairdressers etc. already include a service charge. Tipping is demeaning; Japan has the right idea, where a tip is considered an insult.

It is still all pure speculation. No agreement has been reached nor is likely to (if ever). No conclusion can be reached from this report.

I truly believe that Devil is a very astute and intelligent person but he is allowing his hatred of the Tories and Theresa May to cloud his judgement. Wrong! I hate neither the Tories or Theresa! I just think that Theresa has done the UK no favours by her inability to think beyond a few slogans or ...

Re: The difference between Corbyn and May

Theresa May's alliance with the DUP is probably closer to terrorism than Corbyn's supposed government-sponsored talks with Sinn Fein. In the 1980s, the party was involved in setting up the paramilitary movements Third Force and Ulster Resistance, with the support of Ian Paisley, the party leader. Th...
