Re: US Abortion Laws

Personally, I am against abortion, with the usual caveats regarding health of the woman, rape etc. However, I don't think that it should be made illegal, and I find it quite appalling to see what is happening in certain parts of the US at the moment. I'm with you on this one. Against abortion as a ...

Re: Cyprus will miss its environmental targets for 2020 and 2030

Cyprus is expected to miss its EU 2020 and 2030 environmental targets by large margins
No surprise! The lack of environmental expertise and the refusal to listen to experts are manifest. :(

What's wrong with Cans for Kids? A long-standing and successful system that provides hi-tech equipment to the Makarios Children's Hospital. IMHO, kids are more important than cats.

Corby was because the owners of the steelworks in Motherwell, open one in Corbyn and offered relocation to workers. Hence Scots Corner on the A1/A66 - the lad-way stage for what was a long journey in the early 20th century. 1. It is named Scotch Corner, not Scots Corner 2. It was named Scotch Corne...

Re: Waste management is not so complicated,

I'll go slightly off-topic for a moment. Checking the ancient link in the above post, I looked at a few of my environmental pages from years ago and came across 'My Credo' video at http://bnellis.eu/green/credovid.html - it will give you an idea of what makes me tick.

Re: Waste management is not so complicated,

The real problem with plastics is identification. Yes, PET drink bottles used to be sent to China for recycling into fibres for ropes, insulation, clothing etc. but China is now refusing them because the cost of sorting out non-PET from the PET was prohibitive. Now the milk bottles here are mostly H...

Waste management is not so complicated,

Waste management is not so complicated, says Cyprus’ Environment Commissioner In Cyprus, she added, there was a decrease in landfill and a slight increase in recycling and composting. However, 76% of waste ends up in landfills compared to 24% which is the EU average. At the same time only 16% of th...

Devil,

Take a look at that little girl, and ask yourself if it's worth one penny of British tax payer's money to keep any ISIS members in jail.

I think not.
I agree it's bad value: just chuck'em out and make sure they don't come back.

I'll be pedantic: 'that should be only to be hanged'. You may have hung a picture but Ruth Ellis was hanged. One of the oddities of English! I don't agree with you, though as I'm against capital punishment.

1. I don't find the BBC is particularly biased either to left or right

2. I'm fairly sure that for every mistreatment of an oriental helper, there are a hundred who are treated correctly.

Re: BBC take on domestic help and murders

BBC is probably one of the worst news services out there, their bias on many subjects shines like a beacon, I for one choose other more balanced news services. Can you please give chapter and verse where this article is biassed or otherwise wrong? I found that it presents a situation very well and ...
