Re: Another Remain Loser

Did you actually bother to read the article you posted? It didn't say he didn't lie. It basically said that he's a politician so he's allowed to. One could say that of all politicians even the remainers. However what it did infer was that intelligent people could make their own minds up as to what ...

I learned that the 30,000 Cypriots served in the British Army in WW2, because they were promised independence.
Cyprus was offered independence by Britain in 1916 if they would support the war against Germany, Turkey etc., but the Greek Cypriots were not interested.

How is Theresa May discredited? What yardstick are you using? And where is Boris Johnson's credibility rating on that same yardstick? You have got to be joking if you think that TM was not discredited. Not only trying three times to impose a withdrawal agreement on the UK which handed over so...

Re: BHC at Paphos airport this Wednesday

Also the EU’s present hard line attitude suggests they are very unwilling to re open the previous Brexit negotiations. The EU is quite happy to honour the deal agreed with previous Prime Minister, May. A deal accepted by the EU parliament. But a deal rejected by the UK parliament ....3 times. There...

I am not sure the problem is with Paphos Life. Over the last 10 days I have found slow connections with many of the web sites I visit despite getting over 20Mb when carrying out a speed test. Could be my laptop though which is getting quite full.

Not sure what channels you are getting but I have 3 F! channels as follows: F1, F1HD and F1 FHD, When I have the same situation as you describe I just change to another channel This applies to all other channels apart from the F! channels as well.

Re: My overal view of politicians.

Dominic is right. The UK pension scheme is nothing more than a PONSI scheme (which by the way are now illegal). Individual payments are thrown into a big pot from which pension payments are made. If the government thinks the pot will not be big enough to fork out future payments, because of an reduc...

How is the fact that pensioners get more now than they ever have done be an irrelevance?
Such a comment is an irrelevance to the overall argument if the amount pensioners receive is still not sufficient to live comfortably. I would have thought that was obvious.

Re: My overal view of politicians.

Telling somebody who accuses you of being patronising to grow up doesn't really further your cause. The fact is, you get better a pension than your parents did. Is that not the case? And I mean in relative terms, not just absolute figures, which would be meaningless. As far as a cause is concerned ...

Re: My overal view of politicians.

Stop being so patronising. I am just pointing out some facts. You may not like them, but it is your problem, not mine. Patronising?? Grow up! Maybe you are pointing out facts as they stand at the moment but the facts as you present them hide more widespread problems which you fail even to acknowled...

Re: My overal view of politicians.

Do you have any data which shows pension levels compared to the cost of living? I thought the triple lock meant that at the very least it kept pace with inflation, which is more than you can say for wages over the last few years. Whilst increases in pensions may have kept pace with the cost of livi...

Re: My overal view of politicians.

I have to disagree. The notion that we've lost a whole generation and turned them into rude, selfish, disrespecful brats is just complete and utter guff. Pensioners are getting better pensions than they've ever had before. People have to work longer because people are living longer. It's a pity tha...

Blood Testing at the General

Does blood taking/testing service at the General still take place?
Are the timings still the same i.e. only takes place until 09.00hrs? Or can you arrive later?
Do you have to pay by stickers obtained from along the corridor near the admissions counter?

It reminds me of that song; Stuck in the Middle with that line, "Clowns to the left of me Jokers to the right.

Also don't forget the words to Julie Collins song "Send in the Clowns"

Smudger,
I can only go by my experiences for the last 6 years as a chairman of a management committee. I must admit that our complex is a lot simpler than the one you describe as being yours. I would also request that you PM me the name of your helpful MC.

Yep, committee is required, but would seriously recommend a management company. Going it alone requires so much knowledge, which most of us simply don't have. Check it out seriously. Russell Flick has published a book - "The Ultimate Committee Handbook" - very very useful!! From my experience I am ...
