Re: Free healthcare comes at a price

Sadie,
I would suggest that you stop paying for any further treatment. Just a guess.

Re: UK Election

Jimgw, It has been acknowledged by the hospital that they put the child and his mother in a room where there were only chairs. Whether these chairs could have been pushed together to make a makeshift bed I don't know. The mother has acknowledged that it became uncomfortable to have the child on her ...

Re: UK Election

Boris's message is "Let's get Brexit Done". My question is why did he not get it done when he had the chance before parliament was dissolved and his deal with the EU had got the votes in parliament to go further. I will answer my own question. He and his devious sidekick Dominic Cummins saw the chan...

Re: Free healthcare comes at a price

WHL,
Simple answer is that UK state pensioners in Cyprus get a contribution to their local medical expenses direct from the UK government. Whether this will continue for any great length of time after brexit, who knows.

Varky must know some weird lawyers.
I have personal experience with 'weird lawyers as I am sure a lot of people have'.
Many Paphos lawyers could be charged with the same offence.
and by this I meant the offence of 'meddling' with the judicial process.

Re: Contacts for Pool Maintenance

You can try searching via Bazaraki and go with paid ads I think. Then I would use sites like Trustpilot or smth like that to read actual reviews about the company you consider to hire. Only then I would contact them for a price. Good luck man! Thanks MandyM but my original posting was in 2017 and t...

Re: Free healthcare comes at a price

JimX, This is a serious question and I am not trying to make a point or anything like that, but what would have been the situation regarding surgery before GESY came into existence? Has the situation deteriorated since then? Will the situation not improve after 1st June when surgeons are due to come...

Re: Free healthcare comes at a price

Varky give up, you have no idea of the problems. We live on Cyprus not the UK. I do know of that free bus and a near neighbour who was suffering cancer used this service, but he had to wait around until all those on the bus were treated, then a long slow drive back, unfortunately he has now passed o...

Re: Free healthcare comes at a price

That’s a very unsympathetic answer! There are lots of single people in Paphos and it can be more difficult to find a friend who’s (willing or has the time) to take you,to your appointment or day case surgery, particularly if it involves staying in a hotel over night in the winter. Dee I am well awa...

Re: Paphos hospital criticised for ongoing works at A&E

I cannot see any advantage to this new system, nothing I have read here says anything different, yes I get my drugs I need a lot easier, but you varky will never know just how good or bad GHS system is until you really need a medical procedure. What advantage would you have expected to see with the...

Re: Paphos hospital criticised for ongoing works at A&E

I think JimX's experience and subsequent throwing of his teddy out the pram is solely due to his poor judgement in, first of all his choice of GP and, secondly, his chosen route to get the documentation he requires. At the beginning of September I went to my GP, based at the Paphos General and immed...

Re: Don't park in disabled spots, police warn able-bodied drivers

I had a disabled wheelchair user staying with me a while ago and I, of course, do not have a badge. When shopping with her I didn't think twice about parking in a disabled slot, was I wrong to do that? Not at all you had a legit reason to use the bay, that is what they are there for. Not sure that ...

Re: Don't park in disabled spots, police warn able-bodied drivers

I always thought that the disabled parking spaces were meant only for those disabled persons that had a physical mobility problem. I am happy to be contradicted. Not at all. Some mental problems also qualify and remember that passengers, as well as drivers, can qualify. And what about those whose d...

Re: Don't park in disabled spots, police warn able-bodied drivers

It would help if some of these institutions opened branches in places on the outskirts of town where they can provide plenty of parking. For example the two Alpha Bank branches that I use have about 4 and zero dedicated parking places respectively. The Hellenic in Geroskipou has relocated from somew...
