Re: UK military
Yes, stationed at Akrotiri from 1968 to 1970. Had a number of detachments back to Cyprus during the 80s. When I left the RAF I worked in the UAE between 1989 and 2007 and we often flew back to UK on Cyprus Airways changing flights at Larnaca so we would break the journey with a stop over in Cyprus. ...

Re: CYTA Soeasy PAYG - Necessary to verify mobile phone number
Hmm, all I had to do to verify my mobile was go to MyCyta account, enter my number and it said 'verified'. I almost immediately got an SMS from SoEasy confirming successful identification and 10 euros credit. Can only assume that as I had added my mobile to MyCyta account ages ago that was all that ...

We walk our dogs past Jim's house and often stopped and chatted with Jim who'd be sitting on a bench with Coco on the corner opposite his house.
Attended his funeral last Monday. RIP Jim.

Re: Immovable Property Tax
We finally got our deeds last year and our Community Council Secretary told us we would now have to pay a property tax to the council each year. Only a relatively small amount. This year will be the first full year we have paid it. Also, you sure you're not confusing the payment with your annual com...

Re: Blue Cross Retirement Home - Mesa Chorio
I was a Caseworker for a charity assisting mainly expats for a number of years here in Paphos and had to deal with a number of Care Homes. Most had issues of varying degrees and one was particularly awful, not any of those on this post I add. A Care Home where we had a client who was well cared for ...

Re: Tax return E 19500
I think it depends on who you manage to speak to at the Tax Office. My wife phoned up one day last year and was told she had to complete a tax form even though her pension income was way below the 19,500. My wife already had a TIC for IPT purposes and the tax lady talked her through how to register ...
