Re: Gwennie's red tape service
I agree with Jimx - arrived here 12 years ago, imported our car by ourselves, not knowing anyone here, or speaking Greek. Did our own immigration but did use an accountant for initial tax (not used him for 10 years now), did our title deeds, got my MEU3, changed driving license, etc and have never p...

Re: Police arrest Briton in Ayia Napa rape claim, free Israelis
What a silly girl. This really is not helpful for those people who are unfortunate enough to really experience rape. I hope she is named and shamed, given a suitable punishment, sent back to the UK and barred from Cyprus. The boys in question can now resume their lives, but I'm sure they will never ...

Re: Sirens next week
I lived in Finchampstead for 17 years ( about 4 miles from Broadmoor) and worked there briefly. The only other time the sirens went off was when a patient escaped, then the whole place, including surrounding areas went into lockdown!

Re: Retractable Canopy
Try Euroblinds on the Polis Road (near Steptoes). They fitted our retractable blind 2 years ago and did an excellent job.

Re: Some meds for chronic diseases not available
I suffer from several chronic conditions and have recently used GESY to see my GP, have a blood test and got all of my medications from my local pharmacy with ease.(and considerably less cost) ππ Yes of course there will be teething problems - I don't suppose many of us were around when the UK NHS s...

Re: UK - Tax Self Assessment return form
Hi Sueb - I live in Cyprus full time and pay my income tax here but I also have a property in the UK which I rent out and therefore have to complete a UK tax form (only for the rental income). I have done my UK tax online for several years using the Government Gateway, which needs to be activated wi...

Re: Fit flops
As Tremigirl says, there was a shop just on the edge of the market, (behind the cafes) it mainly sold alcohol but had fit flops on a stand outside. I bought 2 pairs from there about 5 years ago and still wear one pair regularly. Not sure if the shop is still there, but worth a look.

Re: Christmas Lunch
Hi, I've lived here for 10 years and have eaten Chrstmas lunch at various restaurants in the Peyia/Chloraka area. It depends on your tastes, but in Coral Bay there is Lekanto and La Vigne. Annessi on the St Georges road was good, Sunset Breeze in Chloraka was lovely, ate outside in the sunshine 2 ye...
