Paphos overhead walkway.. the idea from amazing Gobekli Tepe?

There are many videos of the amazing oldest temple in the world: > 12000 year old Gobekli Tepe, where they built recently modern constructions to protect the excavation. I wonder if the idea for the Paphos overhead walkway came from that place. One can see on that video how nicely everything was don...

Re: Smoothed head bumps over body

I have hundreds of smoothed head bumps over my body (assume prickly heat). I've had them before but never this bad or for so long. I have already used two tubes of Finistel but it doesn't seem man enough for the job. Can anyone recommend an alternative! TIA If it looks like that photo, than it is b...

Can't stand vinegar sprays. They smell of, well, vinegar,
Also for me the smell of vinegar cleaner is disgusting. ... I wonder how is the one of the ad, which is a mix of lemon acid and vinegar.

Re: I like this ad.... ever so funny

Max please explain what we are all missing? I liked this ad because it is a brilliant business idea to explain in 20 seconds several problems which appeared with the corona lockdown. You can see a father with his son in the kitchen and the son says " Since daddy has been working in the home office,...

Re: Move to ban boats, fishing in parts of Akamas

Question though; have there been accidents between boats, Jet Skis and swimmers? We read reports of accidents & deaths from main resorts every year, but I can't recall any reports about Latchi in my 11 years here! Are there any lifeguards there? The Ministry though does appear to be very heavy hand...

Re: Move to ban boats, fishing in parts of Akamas

This video shows why Authorities are concerned that swimmers will get hurt from boat traffic. It is from 2015, in 2019 it was much more busy though as there large boats from Limassol also go to the same places....

Re: The first electric bus to operate in Cyprus received at Paphos

There is some humour in this situation as pointed out by Trev! It is a peculiar looking bus. In the UK all the buses in Cheltenham have automatic air suspension which when the bus stops lowers it to the height of the pavement. Thus making it easy for wheelchairs and push chairs to be loaded easily ...

So if this bus cost 260,000 euros there is not enough money left for another one. So, Paphos will get one bus
But the money left could be used to built carports with integrated photovoltaic modules to charge the bus-batteries.....

It was already last night much warmer than the nights before, with 28.5 c at dawn 5AM and 20% RH humidity at my place with a slight breeze coming from Troodos direction. So it was outdoors in the night warmer than in the house.....

Re: Ayia Napa is Gearing Up!

You questioned the diamond marker at one fisher boat Dominic: they use them to catch sword fish. https://up.picr.de/38883561km.jpg Deep-set buoy gear uses a hook-and-buoy system that enables fishermen to drop their hooks as deep as 1,200 feet to reach swordfish. When a bite-indicator buoy submerges,...
