Beautiful pictures. Thank you. It was certainly like dusk for the whole night (until bedtime ;) )
Glad you like my pics. I am waiting since days to photograph the Milky Way but it is too much humidity and the full moon doesn't help either...

Crystals & Photography

Crystal hunting and photography are two of my favourite hobbies. While the search for crystals in the countryside is not only interesting and healthy as you move your body a bit more than usual, photographing the items later at home completes the hobby and keeps them in good condition in your photo ...

Re: Over 17,000 hunters set to head out on Sunday

Clay pigeons are used in Cyprus. By the Evretou Reservoir there is a water tank, on top of a big hill. If you go up there you will first of all get some stonking views of the surrounding area. Secondly, you will see lots of clay pigeons that have been shot at. Yeah, it is the "Paphos Shooting Range...

Absolutely beautiful! Thank you. Full moon yesterday

It supposed to be a very special full moon on the 15th, so I took my camera and tried to produce some pics and what I could see with my eyes was great. However there was so much humidity in lower levels that the photos are a bit blurred though... Moon rise near the wind park https://up.picr.de/36526...

Re: Fossilized Octopus???

Under certain conditions, I understand that soft tissue can completely decompose leaving a void, like a mould, which can fill over millenia with minerals deposited from solution. An incredible find, Max, and certainly appears like an octopus. Jon. I am planning to visit the place again in the near ...

Fossilized Octopus???

On one of my last trips I came along a steep hill site where I noticed a lot of fossilized shells, but much more interesting was that: https://up.picr.de/36514047lf.jpg and I assumed that I can see the remains of an octopus, ca 30 cm large.... anybody has got an idea what it could be otherwise? here...

Re: Do you know Cyprus? Villages (#27)

So, nobody knew it to my surprise after the hints I gave.... :)

It is Filousa Chrysochous, to the West the abandoned villages of Evretou and Trimithousa. In the East abandoned Kios, Zacharia and Melandra.
