Re: Good TV,...
Not watched Coma but will. I can recommend 'Kin' available on BBC iPlayer. Two seasons about a fictional Dublin crime family. Well worth a watch if you can cope with the excessive profanity.

Re: Jihadists in Chlorakas
Fair shout WHL although I did check and given the firms name is in the public domain I can advise it here. That said your comments have made me think again, so will amend my previous post. It may not make sense to any future reading. Ultimately I was responding to the comments made within this thread.

Re: Jihadists in Chlorakas
I hadn’t planned to comment further on this site but wanted to thank Dominic for his reply. Your conciliatory tone was appreciated. Firstly I must advise that my headline was not meant to be sensationalist or scaremongering. Looking at it now I believe that I should have phrased it differently. Seco...

Re: Jihadists in Chlorakas
He does exist and it is his job. He works for a Criminal Intelligence firm has been asked to investigate. What an incredibly daft thing to say.
But don’t worry ‘wantoosoon’ I won’t exist on this site any further.

Jihadists in Chlorakas
My son brought this to my attention. He works as an Intelligence Analyst in the UK and has been asked to look at this and also a similar issue in Limassol.

The driving videos you post Dominic are great. Really useful in helping me on my travels when I visit. Must ask though - how much do you spend on petrol?
Cheers.

Short stay at the Airport
For years now I’ve been hiring cars through George & Kula at Easy Rent and am doing so again for our next holiday starting tomorrow. Normally George leaves the car in the short stay car park, however this year I have to ring him when I’ve landed as he’s advised the car park might be closed! We’r...

Booking flights for '23
Hi All, Just booked flights to come back over again in October but I wondered if, in the face of rising fuel costs etc, whether its sensible to book flights for next year (May) now. I was over the first two weeks in May this year & already the same flights in 2023 are £60.00 more expensive. Norm...

Re: Getting harder to retire here
Isn't this very short-sighted by the Govt? Retiring to Cyprus was something that I was considering albeit not for a few years yet, but perhaps not now. Surely anyone approaching retirement in the near future will look elsewhere? Cyprus losing out on the 'grey pound/euro' taking this stance. Not many...

Re: New York Apts
Recent reviews on Tripadvisor suggests the refugees will be staying there for three months. Also, looks like tourists were turning up for their holidays without being told that their apartment had been given to refugees. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g190384-d2190855-Reviews-New_York_Pl...

Euros - old version
Hi, I brought some currency with me that my late father had at home. It isn’t the newer version. A couple of places recently have refused to accept it albeit the majority have been fine. I’m correct in saying that the older Euro notes remain legal tender and those who refused to accept were in the w...

Re: Manchester Airport Queues
The day before (Weds) was a lot busier. We arrived at the airport at 6.45 and took over 70 minutes to get through security. Massive queue snaking around the concourse. People with fast track bookings were taking 30/45 minutes. Chatting to one of the security guys he said they had recruited but still...

Re: Not just Cyprus Flight Pass abolished as of Monday, but also most travel-related protocols
Yes Safepass is still required for Bars and Restaurants but in reality we’ve not been asked for one for a few weeks now So, as 'holidaymakers' we still need a 'flightpass' do we? (but not for flying! :D ) No you need Safepass, completely different thing. If you are fully vaccinated including booste...

Anyone know if a safe pass (assume its the same doc) is still required in restaurants?

Re: Manchester Airport Queues
I'm travelling from T2 at 9.10am next Weds. Apparently T2 has been less affected by queues compared to T1 given flight volume is less. Hopefully, I've not just jinxed it  My son travelled from T1 last Sunday with baggage checked in & through security in under 45 mins. Advice was to arrive 4...

Gluten & Dairy Free
Hi All, Coming over for the first time in three years at the end of the month. Since the last time over I've been diagnosed as Gluten & Dairy intolerant. While I'm relatively relaxed about dining out what is the availability of GF & DF products in the supermarkets? Key items will primarily b...

Some of my family flying out on 2nd March to view wedding venues, and I'm out for a week on 16 March. So am I correct in saying that all we need now is the flight pass and proof of our vaccinations and boosters. Yes - this link explains the process now & from 1 March. https://www.visitcyprus.co...

Re: Brits To Cyprus
Decided against coming over at all this year. Cancelled flights in May & had planned to come over again in October, but from my, especially health, perspective think giving it a miss is the best option.
Hope that those that do travel stay safe & well.
