Re: MEU3 application

Sadie Telephone not recognised as a utility. Alan A letter from CYTA stating we had been customers for over five years was accepted at Paphos last December as part of our MEU3 application, along with numerous other documents - maybe Nicosia did disregard it but we had otherwise provided ample proof...

Re: MEU3 application

Rather than keep asking questions I suggest you go to the Immigration Office or go to an Agent. Everyone is trying to be helpful but none of us can answer questions specific to your situation.

Re: Big state pension rise

I also worked in the UK and Cyprus. However, the four years I worked here were not enough to qualify for a separate Cypriot pension and the UK told me my UK state pension will be based on my UK contributions only. You may have a different outcome as you are now in the UK.

Re: MEU3 application

Even people who have the correct residency papers have had issues entering their details onto the GESY website, but your situation is compounded because you do not have MEU1 or MEU3 which are the two documents the system recognises for UK Expats.

Re: Big state pension rise

I'm 6yrs short and it's not worth me paying additional contributions.... I still have another 5yrs before I can get my pension. But I do have 12yrs of contributions paid into the SI fund in Cyprus and that's something I need to check up with overseas part of the UK pensions dept. This may be a usef...

Re: MEU3 application

Unlike the MEU1 interview where the MEU1 Yellow Slip is issued at the end of the interview provided all criteria are met, the MEU3 interview is part of a more stringent process which is checked in Nicosia before the MEU3 is issued and posted out. A few people have reported that they were contacted b...

Re: MEU3 application

I follow the immigration process on various FB groups and these are the most recent: Interview time is based on the number you are given when you arrive, even if you have been given an appointment time this is being disregarded. People have been arriving at 7 am or much later in the morning to avoid...

More concerned about the fact that one allowance that forms part of the UK State pension stops on 5th April 2020. Known as the Adult Dependency Increase. If living in the UK one could apply for Pension Credit or Universal Credit from 6th April 2020. All part of the sweeping changes over the past dec...

Re: Gesy problems

To be fair there would have been quite a few errors as many clinicians were not computer savvy - in fact one specialist just gave up and wrote the request on a piece of paper because he couldn't find a particular test on the system. Only showed up when I paid the fee and had the test at a later date...

Pedestrians injured in two separate incidents

A 71 year old woman is in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Nicosia Hospital after she was hit by a car while trying to cross the road in the Paphos district on Wednesday night. It was the second accident involving a pedestrian in the Paphos district within one hour. The woman is Brit...

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) will pay a projected €85m next year for carbon dioxide emissions allowances, a cost that will be transferred to consumers. The expenditure features in the EAC budget for 2020 presented in parliament this week. Documents submitted by the state power corporati...

Remembrance Day to be inclusive of 'all modern Britain'

The red poppy will be worn to remember terror and civilian victims of war for the first time this year, the Royal British Legion has said. Remembrance Day will not only pay tribute to fallen British and allied armed forces but will be inclusive of ‘all modern Britain’. The 98-year-old charity’s webs...
