Re: Latest COVID Announcement - Paphos travel ban lifted.

Thank you for the explanation Dominic - as always there are many mini announcements and updates within a few hours of the original so appreciate you want to keep everything clear and concise and in one place.

Re: Puzzling headlines

Not just related to footballers - know quite a few people who went into meltdown because they couldn't watch Strictly Come Dancing one evening due to issues with the buffering. My suggestion that they could watch it later on catch up was met with derision - it just wasn't the same as watching it live!

Worth asking if the connection fee is going to be waived in December - CYTA occasionally has this on offer, so a few days may make a saving.

Re: Photographers upset their work no longer accepted for official use

Having the photograph taken at Citizens Service Centre also authenticates the ID process and the photograph is kept on a central computerised file. On two occasions ten years apart for two entirely different reasons I was issued with one document that had the photograph glued to it and the other had...

Thank you Trev - pleased to read that as a MEU1 holder with the S1 form and exemption letter that you have no GESY tax to pay. Awaiting for Jim to read my post above but another tip I have just received is ''I would suggest he emails one of the persons named for clarification stating that despite th...

Re: Sklavenitis (Carrefore)

Really do like this shop, especially upstairs where there are many bargains for household and electrical items as well as clothing, stationery etc. Not been there since new restrictions but see no reason why upstairs should be closed when other retail shops selling similar items are open - at least ...

Re: Covid 19 vaccination

It would help if we knew the total number of people who take part in each stage of every trial and assume that at this level it is a ''double blind study''. I have seen adverts for face creams on TV which state that after 4 weeks 80 percent of women find their wrinkles are not so prominent - of a to...

Re: Coronavirus: Free tests for all Paphos residents to start Monday

Just read a report from a lady who had the free test this morning in Paphos. You complete a form giving your name, date of birth and phone number.
All very organised and social distancing observed. Results sent to your phone in approx 24 hours.

What I don´t understand is that people don´t wear certified masks (FFP 2 or 3) now that they are available. Why not wear one that actually offers protection to myself (as opposed to merely protecting others) if I have to wear one anyway? Must admit I am concerned about the level of protection given...

Re: Number of positive cases announced in Polis ‘misleading’

Excellent news! However, concerned that 12 of the people who turned up for the free Municipality test had already tested positive on a previous occasion. Why weren't they self-isolating / in quarantine? None of them were supposed to have the test as they had already tested positive previously. Is it...
