UK Nationals living in Cyprus

'It is not all doom and gloom for UK Nationals living in Cyprus. Realizing the significant contribution of the vibrant UK nationals’ community, both to the economy and society, the Cyprus government has tried to accommodate the all-important British expat community as best it can' If these persons e...

Re: Low water this morning at Paphos harbour...

When we had our catamaran it was sometimes critical to know the exact depth of the water to within 10-15 cm - miscalculated once when navigating a narrow channel with sifting sands (the depth sounder was located in one hull), so we waited for the sea level to rise sufficiently to float us off. We wa...

Re: Limassol records 70% of Cyprus' all new covid cases in past two weeks

Theres a very large Russian population in Limmasol and in general pay only lip service to Covid lockdown because they honestly believe it's not serious due to the news feeds they get from Russia. Jim I think overall people are just fed up with the ongoing situation and cannot see an end in sight. M...

Re: Vaccination slots for 71+ open up on Tuesday 22nd February

I certainly will make a point of asking which second jab I am having when i go back in only 6 days time. By the way i didn't know there were two separate vaccination locations at the hospital.. Literally next door to each other - Labelled A and B. However, this may have been done after your first v...

If you have filled out a form galexinda and have your ID with you, you will have complied with the law and be fine. No policeman has the time or interest to investigate which shops you have been to and which shops you intend going to. Thank you but I will not be following your advice - especially a...

Re: Limassol records 70% of Cyprus' all new covid cases in past two weeks

I am struggling to understand the reason for using the SMS system/Form B during this 'lockdown' for the general public. There is so much flexibility with regards to the time one can spend out of the home and the distances permitted to travel and the facility to just extend one permission by submitti...

I hope that when different people go for their second jab is is the same brand as the first one .. Trev - when you booked your appointment only the Pfizer vaccine was available at Paphos General. I noticed a day or so later that both Pfizer and AstraZeneca were available according to the GESY Benef...

Re: Waiting for our MEU3s

Our correspondence is sent to a PO Box and there was the choice for the MEU3 forms to be sent there so we kept checking there. However, our post person likes to let people know there is post for them by leaving the post half out the letterbox or if they do not have a letterbox on the wall by the ent...

Re: Limassol records 70% of Cyprus' all new covid cases in past two weeks

What is there for Police to check, other than if people carry their ID and have sent an sms (or have Form B with them)? Otherwise pretty meaningless. Wife and I were out all yesterday morning, starting with my vaccine jab. Then onto Alfa Mega. Then to the Russian fruit market. Then collect hardware...

Re: UKCA Club in the news

The UKCA is different from other ‘ businesses’ in that it has a membership. Some of the members are quite wealthy although by no means all. Many years ago , back in UK I was a member of an organisation which ran into a financial problem and the members helped out, with gifts of money, interest free...

Re: UKCA Club in the news

UKCA was great when we moved here - but that was some years ago and the people of today have a different lifestyle. Not saying there isn't a need for the club but, as people have mentioned in previous comments, many businesses have been affected in the past twelve months or so and are struggling.

The authorities were looking at Palia Ilektriki which is near Kennedy Square a few days ago as a potential site for vaccinations - often referred to as the old electricity power plant. I believe this is the place. Link to location map: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Palia+Ilektriki+Restaurant-Caf...
