Re: Where have all the frogs gone?

None here, either, in the middle of the country, perhaps for 4 or 5 years.

Good! Excellent product. I'll also stock up on the potato croquettes, light and good. 3-4 mins in a deep fryer at low temp (160°C is good).

So we have to accept that we will never eradicate TB in cattle, so why spend money trying to do it ?
So you don't mind all your dairy products come from TB-infected milk? Get real.

How has the UK widened its bounds since 1945 up to 2019? Oh! India (Pakistan), Malaya, Burma, Ceylon, Singapore, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), Kenya, Nigeria and many more with the king's head on its postage stamps.

Last Night of the Proms

As usual, we had our fill of misplaced patriotism in a glorious ambiance of music. 'And did those Feet ... walk on England?' Utter poppycock! 'Wider ... shall thy bounds be set' Oh yeah? 'Send her victorious' In this day and age and over whom? But it was great entertainment: loved it! However, i had...

BUT, I understand from my M.P. that the EU will not allow vaccination of cattle against TB. Simply because a) the vaccination has not proved effective in all cases and b) a cow with the disease prior to the vaccination can transmit it to other beasts for weeks before it can be detected. Horrible, y...

Re: Where to buy an aluminium or UPVC front door?

I would not use UPVC especial if in full sun as thee is a a lot of movement in the profile and panels especial the woodgrain colours plus they are not the best for security, Nonsense! I've had white UPVC doors and windows for >10 years and would have no other (including south-facing). Better insula...

Re: Cyprus has fifth most expensive bread, cereals in EU28 (table)

Is it a surprise? Here, you have wheat grown in fields no bigger than a pocket handkerchief, so small a combine harvester would be bigger! Within 5 km of here, I've seen 7 patches of wheat ranging, by eye, from estimated 100 m² to 300 m². Where is the economy of scale in that?

Re: Bercow to stand down

Bercow was, by far, the best Speaker in living memory. He got rid of many of the 18th-century trappings surrounding parliament whilst maintaining dignity, a tight-rope walk. Equally a tight-rope was maintaining fairness to the Opposition Members, remembering he was Conservative in his private feelin...

Re: My first week driving electric SUV

As a long-term (12 years) user of hybrid vehicles, I believe that they are the only way forward at this time in Cyprus, to reduce carbon emissions. However, there are some ifs and buts beyond my average reduction of petrol consumption (and CO2 emissions proportionally) for similar-sized vehicles fro...
