Re: House Extension

We added two rooms and an outside kitchen without 'permission'. Have just gone (retrospectively) through the process of updating Title Deeds to show additions. Re timescale, it's taken 18 months so far. That's for Planning Permision, Building Permission and Final Approval. Although of course already...

Re: Jab 5??

Has anyone actually had their fifth jab? A wasted trip to the hospital this morning, to be told that it is not yet available and "we will write in the newspaper when it is here". But I thought I had read it was available from September. No wonder there was no queue 😀

Re: Ex-pat UK Banks to shut Brit accounts due to EU red tape

I wondered why I couldn't register my new UK bank card with PayPal. The previous one worked fine. I'll stop trying!

Re: Joint names on bills

It is perfectly possible to have joint names on Electricity Bills. Did this successfully about 6 months ago. You need the right person on the right day. No, it's not acceptable that it should have to be this way, but that's how it is. We all know how it works. Just write off half a day of your life ...

Duvet Help

I am looking for someone who could help restore a silk filled duvet to its former glory. The silk has become bunched up and the duvet offers no warmth as previously. I have given it a good shake, but am dubious about touching the silk 'construction'. It looks complicated! Only 2 years old, so reluct...

Lost item of jewellery

A long shot, but a friend of mine has lost a ring of great sentimental value, probably at Lara or on the Akamas.

It's a 9ct gold gentleman's ring with a flat gold oval top, upon which is engraved SAD in copperplate writing.

Just in case someone spots it when out walking.

Thanks.
