Re: Inexpensive seller of nuts and seeds?

There is a nut factory here in larnaca Amalia, they will sell to you, but it has to be a large amount, we went once, but we ended up eating double our usual amount, just trying to get through them before the expiry date was up, and if I remember, although we got a discount, it wasnt that much.

Re: Church bells to toll for five minutes as prayers held at Hagia Sophia

WHL I dont think so, have you read, Constantinople, The Last Great Siege of 1453, very interesting book by Roger Crawley. The fall of Constantinople was down to the Schism between the Greek Orthodox and Catholic Churches. The Pope offered help (with conditions of course) but this was refused becaus...

Re: Church bells to toll for five minutes as prayers held at Hagia Sophia

The Greek Orthodox Church hierarchy alone lost Agia Sophia and Constantinople to the East in 1453. In fact it was mainly Italians who defended the city while the Archbishops knelt in Agia Sophia praying for deliverance rather than agree to a compromise with the Pope. Jim I think that is a tad simpl...

Re: Church bells to toll for five minutes as prayers held at Hagia Sophia

Eudogan has no need for more mosques, during his leadership he has built thousands of new mosques in Turkey and abroad, what this has to do with is his dream of turning turkey into an Islamic republic modeled on Iran, By turning Ayia Sophia into a mosque it is just another chipping away and undoing ...

Well meaning people who go out and feed these cats, are a big part of the problem, you are just increasing no.s, let them fend for themselves, if not a humane cull should be introduced. https://www.livescience.com/65356-australia-feral-cats-poison-sausages.html#:~:text=Approximately%20211%2C000%20ca...

I called my gym and they didn´t even know whether you´d have to. It´s a bit unpractical when doing a workout /showering/swimming.

Re: Masks mandatory from tonight.

I would say to Trev and anyone else who visits a shop (however small) to put on a mask. Both you and the shopkeeper are vulnerable. The shopkeeper particularly, who deals with many different people during each day, may well already have the virus; incubating. Possibly caught from somewhere else or ...

Re: Masks mandatory from tonight.

I would guess that if no one else was in the village shop, it would be OK not to wear a mask. As the message states More generally, the new measures concern the mandatory use of masks in indoor crowded areas such as malls, banks, supermarkets, hospitals and churches. I don't think a village shop wo...

Re: Inexpensive seller of nuts and seeds?

My partner and I eat a lot of nuts and seeds. Does anyone know of an inexpensive supplier on the island? There's no such thing as an-inexpensive supplier, if you want cheap nuts you will get second rate and inferior products, we buy quite a lot of nuts and shop from a small place in Larnaca, not th...

OK good to know that, I wrongly thought the tests were only for essential workers etc, second question are they accepted here?

Im I missing something here, are the NHS tests, for essential workers, and people who might have the symptoms only , not for people who want to go on holiday, and dont want to spent money on a private test, cheating the system comes to mind.
