Re: Travelling To Cyprus From The UK - Clarifications

"As reported in CM yesterday, 21 booked for not having completed the flight pass. Why on earth cannot the airlines require this before people are allowed on the plane. " I'm flying Ryanair next week and received an email today alerting me to the need to complete travel documentation for Cyprus, with...

Only the Grauniad can take 19 paragraphs to say what a couple of sentences can convey. They've taken verbosity to a new level.

Re: CYPRUS AIRPORTS

I think the answer is Yes. Our neighbours came back on a repatriation flight in July and the whole testing process took over 5 hours. And there was a comment in the Cyprus Mail yesterday where someone said they arrived on a flight at 8.30pm and didn't get out until 2am.

Re: VIRUS TEST ON ENTRY TO CYPRUS

An MEU1 merely allows you to stay in Cyprus for a spell of more than 3 months (but less than 6 months in total over a year). Residency doesn't really come in to it. People having an MEU1 aren't necessarily intending to get an MEU3. When I queried the situation with the CY Consular they made it clear...

Re: VIRUS TEST ON ENTRY TO CYPRUS

No it doesn't. I checked with the Cyprus Consular in London. Permanent residents - i.e. MEU3 holders - only. Got the same answer from the Covid19 team in the Cyprus govt.

Not quite. Your posts were from July 16, last year. And you seemed a tad obsessed by the company.

I worked for Jet2 in Paphos and after three month I engineered away to get sacked by them.

Boy was I glad to get out of that company.
You don't have much luck with employers, do you? As I recall, you were slagging off a car hire company last year (KEM?)

Re: Overwhelmed Tala cat park issues SOS

I know of a few elderly ex pats who feed feral cats on a daily basis...So there will be more and more of them.Do they understand that they are creating the problem. Not really true, Chaddy. Ex-pats are not creating the problem in the first place. One of the reasons there are so many stray cats and ...

Re: To The Time Machine!

What the **** is a "quantum computer"?

I my days as a smelly physics student, quantum simply meant the least amount of energy in a reaction. Nowadays, it's used to give the impression of size - "quantum leap", for example.

Re: New Updated List

Another thing about the PIO PR. For Cat B it says: "It should be noted that passengers coming from Category B countries will be required to have undertaken a laboratory test at least 72 hours prior to departure and to possess a Certificate showing negative PCR examination for the virus." Surely they...

Re: New Updated List

Unless I'm mistaken, the PIO press release says the categorization takes effect from July 23, and Cat C only applies to Cypriots, permanent residents etc. No mention of August 1 for tourists.

Re: New Updated List

Cat C didn't have to self-isolate before today as well as providing a certificate.

If you have the test at the airport (Cat B) you don't have to self-isolate. Can anyone explain the logic?

Re: New Updated List

The Flight Pass has been altered, if the UK changes to Cat B then we could have the test on arrival €60 pp which we would pay for, much cheaper than the UK! Surely UK tourists will have to have a Covid-19 -free certificate if the UK is moved to Cat B?? Only Cypriots, permanent residents etc can pay...
