Dr C. Kampouris operated on my knee. Thoroughly recommend him. He has an office in the same building as Geroge Vorkas Radiology Lab. I think many members on here have been treated by him.

Not very reassuring news if you're a Revolut client - as I think from previous postings, quite a few people on here are:

Lidl's is called "Hampstead" but check the label as so is their alcoholic version! They also sell Tanqueray non-alcoholic gin, as does Philippos. Both are fine. My suggestion is to use about 50% more than usual in your glass for both of them to get a more authentic taste.

Re: Knee problems.
Hallo. Any other recommendations for an orthopaedic surgeon please? My hip was done on GESY by Dr Kampouris, operates at the Iasis, but has a practice in the same building as George Vorkas. I get the impression that Drs Kampouris and Aspros are the most popular on here (see other postings on orthop...

Re: Vet recommendation
Since Dr Maria in Emba died a few years ago, we have taken our cats to Pet&Vet in Chloraka. Lovely caring people. Bit of a treck for you, but you'll get all the care your dog will need. They are at Eleutherias Avenue 102, Chloraka, just along from PetzStuff.

Re: Renewing Cyprus Driving Licence
Just a word of warning for Trev and anyone else whose licence is due for renewal in the near future. I phoned the Citizen's Service Center in Paphos today for an appointment in, hopefully, the next 2 weeks. My licence expires on July 13. The earliest appoint that I could get is July 24. The member o...

It's on TeaforTwo's menu but whether it is exactly the same I don't know. Better do a field test, I suggest

Re: Driving Licence Renewal for 'oldies'
My driving licence is due for renewal next month. My birthday is in December.
I think the renewal date relates to the date that you converted your UK licence to a Cypriot one.

I think the one on the road to the harbour closed a while ago, leaving just the one in the Mall.

Firefly: my wife still uses her maiden name for passport, HMRC etc. Her surname begins with "W", whereas I'm near the beginning of the alphabet, so your theory may be right.

Similar here to MiaBeth, except that my wife is still waiting for hers. The same thing happened last year - although both notification letters (posted from Holland) were the same date, they arrived weeks apart.

Omikron - booking essential for Saturday and Sunday. Food is excellent. Nice atmosphere. There is a free car park down the road to the left of the resto.

Re: GESY Registration
The white medical card is NOT an S1. You get it from the Ministry of Health. When completing the online form for entry to Gesy using an S1 route, there is no mention of a white medical card. But unless you get one and send a copy to the MoH, your application will sit in someones office forever. So, ...

Re: Shingles vaccination
Trev. It's considered far less effective in older people. In the UK you can only get it up to 79yo. It's a one-off jab, by the way, although in some countries you get two doses, 6 months apart.
