Re: Campaign to promote Paphos as domestic tourism destination
Please feel free to pm me for details of people you could confirm it with! Have you ever been involved with the hospitality business? I was raised in it and trust me you couldn't make up half the stuff that happens! But you could make up the other half….. ;) I suppose if you end a sentence with an ...

Re: Halloumi burgers added to Burger King menus in the UK
I've never seen the appeal of halloumi. I've tried it from both ends of the cost spectrum, from the ultra cheap to the expensive, and also tried it in the north, and can't see what the fuss is about. Each to their own, I suppose. As for the Swedes, they say the stuff is unhealthy: https://cyprus-mai...

Re: Campaign to promote Paphos as domestic tourism destination
There are even some who bring all their washing from home to use the electricity and water in their apartments instead of run up their home bills... I kid you not! I find that very hard to believe. How do they get all that laundry and the clothes, shoes etc. that they use on holiday in one allowanc...

For some reason, this reminded me of a sign on one of the gates to a section of the garrison in Episkopi:

Re: Paphos tourism board welcomes new Ryainair flights
...and I meant to say "from Paphos"! Over the years, many airlines have run a brief service from Paphos, but presumably there's an issue - low number of bums on seats, landing fees etc. Ryanair run a twice-daily (at times, daily otherwise) service to Thessaloniki, so there must be a reason...

Neville sometimes comes across as a chump:

I heard he'd been told a million times not to exaggerate.

Re: Cyprus has the highest prices in Europe for milk, cheese and eggs
I’ve never bought eggs from the Supermarkets here 😉 Presumably the hens that lay the eggs you buy are not raised in battery cages......... There are some supermarkets/butchers (e.g. Garden of Eden, Kolios etc.) that sell excellent eggs from free-range hens, and also sell free-range chickens. The sp...

Re: Cyprus has the highest prices in Europe for milk, cheese and eggs
I'm sure there are plenty of rogues in every business (farming included) but the UK has some of the highest animal welfare standards in the world. Something to be proud of - and I suspect it's mainly a voluntary code of practice, rather than being simply obliged to obey UK/EU laws. By and large, UK...

Re: Cyprus has the highest prices in Europe for milk, cheese and eggs
Back to the OP.... I was surprised earlier this week to see Lidl selling eggs imported from Greece (and packaged/laid in late May according to the stamp). I would have thought that Cyprus could produce enough fresh eggs for its own population.

I've lived in Kamares for 25 years, and until a few years ago, there used to be a gully near the building which overflowed across the road in the rainy season. Surely that should have rung alarm bells somewhere before the go-ahead for building was given.

Re: TASTY fast food and Lounge - Universal area
Looks promising. Trip Advisor says it's Turkish, which would be unusual, but good - I find Turkish food more "moist" that Greek. Good recommendation, either way!
