Re: English Surname
Joseph K I read in an article that Mohammed was the most popular given name in the UK and put two and two together and most probably got five.so no ulterior motives from me. I've been to Gujerat where almost everyone is called Patel and my own surname is the most common name in the north east of Sco...

Re: Limassol records 70% of Cyprus' all new covid cases in past two weeks
Maybe it depends on the reason for going out. I will not be 'pooling' When I go to Nicosia later this month.. It is usually 2 hrs there and 2 hrs back and I expect the appointment to take 2 to 4 hrs.. I will just be applying once and taking proof of why we are going there Trev It does say "A reason...

Re: Limassol records 70% of Cyprus' all new covid cases in past two weeks
Theres a very large Russian population in Limmasol and in general pay only lip service to Covid lockdown because they honestly believe it's not serious due to the news feeds they get from Russia.

On Subject: I have just taken another good old shoeing in the USD / GBP rate - As HIC pointed out, you would have thought with Trump gone the USD might have stabilized, but it has not. Off subject: Brexit has left the building like Elvis, should BR-rejoins or Elvis returns, most of us on this forum...

Re: Sterling doing well!
Maybe instead of spending time thinking up insulting names, maybe it's time to start posting a few credible links to back up your opinions. You have a typical Brexit outlook, if you can't beat the facts start name calling and being insulting. Below is a link providing a document with numbers of admi...

Re: Sterling doing well!
No Varky, If responding to a claim that the EU CS is bloated by comparing it in size to the UK CS is being selective then you must have a more analytical mind than most. I could have posted that the EU CS has less Council Employees than Leeds City Council though no doubt I would be accused of being ...

Re: Paphos beaches
I lived in Coral Bay from the beginning of 2003 to the end of 2004 and remember about 300 metres of the road being completely washed away. They've closed the road several times over the years due to major roadworks so quite possibly it happened in 2008.as well. I rented one of the bungalows right on...

Re: Sterling doing well!
The point you fail to grasp is most of my posts are in response to lies or misleading statements that are made on here, generally about the EU by people like you. You give yourself and fellow leavers too much credit if you believe you give a "balanced" view of the situation, if you did I wouldn't bo...

Re: Sterling doing well!
I think the pair of you are seeing something that isn't there, you both should really read back further than just my posts. Mirek posted about the "bloated EU civil service" to which I pointed out that its size is less than one tenth of the UK civil service; a very innocuous response I would say whi...

I also remember I think in the winter of 2003/04 half the coast road in Banana Bay being washed away during one storm. The whinging on the forums was unbelievable as it took six months to repair and the traffic was diverted through the banana plantations. I see the sea defences have been improved do...

Re: Paphos beaches
If you could get your facts right one day you would know Coral Bay many years ago was stripped of sand completely after a huge winter storm,I saw it myself,so many many tons of sand was shipped in from somewhere,so in theory it is a man made beach, but obviously as you haven't been here that long yo...

JimB, On the subject of civil servants you failed to include the number of civil servants employed within each of the individual countries. This would have given a more representative comparison. May I suggest selective information? No, figures given from Google forl EU Commission Civil Servants.Ev...

Yes Pete, I should keep up. Reading up it looks like they brought 9K in a month after I retired but no excuse. Anyway they're really good headphones and the wife can't complain about the noise or the type of music I like. Another really good piece of kit I bought was a Bluetooth receiver that plugs ...

Re: Radio antennae
Jim B - Where did your daughter buy them please? 😎 Can get them from Amazon or Ebay. Just type in waterproof headphones and then check the IP rating which is Ingress Protection. The one you want is X8, the second number is waterproof rating, 8 being the highest water ingress protection rating. Jim
